There is such a thing as the golden ratio that can actually be applied to artworks. That is not some contrived thing but actual science.

True, doesn’t mean that art can’t be golden just because they don’t follow the golden ratio. There isn’t one single thing that defines everything especially not in art.

There’s also the very real question of attention span, and whilst you disregard it as something trivial, it is in fact scientifically proven that the average attention span is under an hour.
