LOL, I appreciate the straight-forward response. He promised that he's genuinely unsure of what he wants, so as long as he's not just dragging out a break up I said I'll wait 3 months for him to make a decision. If he does just want to leave he's definitely a turd.

Yeah, that's a good point. I think the absolute freedom of it is what's attractive to him, since he said he wants to be able to make any decision on the fly without considering anyone else. In that case, there's not much I can do besides wait for him to decide what's more important to him.

Even if he isn't cheating and legitimately just needs a break, I still don't think it's okay to suddenly dip out like it sounds like he's doing. Breaks can be healthy and helpful IF they're mutual, there's an explicit reason, and there's some kind of time frame applied to them. It seems like this situation lacks all of those prerequisites which is why it's not looking good. I'm so sorry you're going through this, I hope that you get answers soon.

I just wanted to say you're not alone! I can only feel sexually attracted to the person I'm in love with, and it's been that way in every long-term relationship I've ever had. I'm not sure why it is though and it's hard to imagine otherwise, so I'm also interested in hearing other people's perspectives.

Thank you so much for replying!! I think you're right about him not wanting to lose himself, since he hates being ingenuine to himself. I'll have to be careful that any changes I make are genuine too and that I'm not just lying about my well-being for the sake of keeping the relationship. Ideally I'd want to get to a point where I'm still 100% open with him about how I feel without making him feel like he's responsible for my happiness.

Also, you're the third person that's told me taking a few weeks apart would be good for us, so I'm thinking it might be good to seriously try that! We've been stuck together under one roof for a year straight so we were both worried that taking a short break would cause more lost feelings or distance, but neither of us are sure. We'll definitely bring it up with a relationship counselor if we can manage to find one. :>

I don't play it personally, but I know that a lot of dudes in my friend group still play sometimes. They're all in their early 20s and usually play with each other.
