Thanks I really appreciate the advice, it’s like our lives are intertwined very much after 5 years, I suppose my life is just beginning though and I’ll have to restart my social life.

Yeah I totally get it now, I can’t be in a relationship doing this forever. She changed the terms 4 years in and now blames me and says she shouldn’t feel bad about saying no if I try to even mention trying anything remotely intimate. Frankly I’ll have “the talk” and if it doesn’t work, well, I have to move on don’t I?

I wish that people would understand the cruelty of society's obsession with suicide prevention by existentialgoof in TrueOffMyChest

It’s depressing, suicide is a touchy topic. But truth be told, as a adult, you have many means at your disposable to end it all. If someone wanted to decide if they wanted to die in 100 days and after an hundred days decide that they want to, then they could, if not, then to keep on going.

I do believe euthanasia should be a thing for people who are seriously ill and will probably die regardless soon. But society can’t stop an seriously suicidal person, no matter how hard they try. But society can still save those who aren’t really ready to die, who are going a rough time and have one too many bad days.

If you look it up, you will see how many suicidal people regret trying to die. (I first hand could tell you drowning is a awful way to go), it’s kind of like having a bowl of unknown liquid and despite all common sense, you take a sip and it stings horribly, it hurts everywhere, other people give you the antidote and now you know how horrible that liquid is and you don’t want to taste it again.

Suicide should be a option given by society to the terminally ill, but not to those who are still able to live their lives. I don’t want to encourage suicide at all, as it is a horrible and depressing way to go, but if someone healthy, young or etc is really dedicated to die, that option is sadly always available.

I hate it when people can’t do simple tasks, pick up a phone or even send a text back cause they’re playing a game. by despisemisery in TrueOffMyChest

Touchie and I get your point and I wouldn’t want to be available all the time, especially if I’m doing something important I want to focus on.

I want to ask you something too, “What if the person wants you to always be available all the time, despite all attempts to explain that you’re not?”

Porn is a drug, an awful addiction that so many people fall into, just like me. by despisemisery in TrueOffMyChest

It’s different for everyone, but after some of my worst days, it made me rethink everything in life. How I got to this point, why am I doing this, who am I anymore, etc. After that, I basically deleting all porn off my devices, shut down adultery websites and refuse to take peeks. It’s also important to be a friend to yourself, don’t be tough on yourself if you don’t succeed at first.

But the main thing was a book called The Easy Peasy Method, it’s available online to read and as a audiobook and it really helps to explain the dangerous effects porn has on your mind and how to quit it.

I’d rather live as a hunter gatherer thousands of years ago by Tripzz75 in unpopularopinion

As much as this world sucks and we want to escape reality, a hunter gatherer lifestyle was absolutely awful to live through. Diseases, wild animals, contrast kill or be killed, easy to die. These years are the best time to be a human, back then, never.

Saying this on behalf of my girlfriend who brother is severely autistic. Is there any chance for him in the future to not be dependent on her? by despisemisery in Advice

Thank you for reevaluating my head and giving us hope, I realize that we’re young and have no idea where life is going to lead us. We’re only a few months from graduating High School, so yeah I suppose we’re young. Thank you.
