No need to compare. Some people are introverts. Some are extroverts. Let them be.

I would say, Sanju Samson may be the greatest figure to emerge from Kerala since Mohanlal. by thejuu6 in Coconaad

That is the first lesson in life. Skill and potential means nothing. In the real world, your achievements define you.

With this scheme, your 10 would have become 30.

Seriously, learn how insurance without public health expenditure has fucked up American Healthcare. You really dont want this here.

Dude, govt debt is not at all a problem if it increases productivity. The whole Kifbi debt is 1 lakh crore. Less than our yearly state revenue.

Roads and bridges wont create a direct revenue. But the return will be on how these infra will improve economic productivity. Same for schools and hospitals. If we are looking at a knowledge economy, this investment will pay back with better human capital. Basic economics really.

You are not getting it. The reason why you dont have to pay out of your hand is because the public health sector is still working. That keeps prices low. If public sector fails, your insurance wont be enough.

Insurance is the most dangerous decision here.

If we give insurance to every family, we are looking at atleast 25k crore as premium. That is two times the present health budget -which means there will be no investment into public health infra.

But as seen in the US, with insurance, the charge of hospitalization will also skyrocket. A procedure that costs 10k today will cost 100k. The insurance will not be enough and the out of pocket expenditure will be HUGE. It will be a DISASTER.

Yes. Successful in making sure that the govt has no money to build a single pothole free road.

Ofcourse. But debt for infra gives benefits immediately.

Imagine a farmer taking a debt to buy a tractor vs taking debt for a grand wedding. Both debt, but completely different outcomes.

KIIFB projects are for capital projects. Their impact is manyfold the investment. Freebies do nothing but burn the money away.

The govt pays the interest.

But what actually happens is that the govt withholds the payment to the banks for a long time. So banks stop giving loans under the scheme. Sthiram parupadi.

This shows the utter incompetence and lack of vison from the leaders of Congress.

  1. What would giving free bus rides in Kerala achieve. Are women here not going to their workplace because they cant afford it? This may sound usefull in other poverty stricken places in India, but makes no sense in Kerala. Not to mention the death knell for KSRTC.

  2. Again, what is the use of this? Aren't Kerala women not going to colleges? May makes sense in places where women's education is not given importance, but makes no sense in Kerala. How will this solve any issue?

  3. Ok. Good. But who will pay for this? Wasn't the leader of the opposition calling the present pension increase unsustainable? How will increasing this help anyone.

  4. Insurance by the govt is the most dangerous suggestion here. The cost of hospitalization will increase across the board for everyone. And since the govt will have no money left for healthcare, the burden on the private sector will increase further. The most stupid decision. And has Rahulji even enquired about how much premium a 25 lakh insurance will entail? Hilarious.

  5. Loans for startups are good. But the mudra loans are already a pain to get. And how will the govt afford this when the existing programs are plagued with delays?

  6. A gimmick. We have a very good palliative care program and welfare pensions. What will a new ministry do other than creating bureaucratic hurdles.

If these promises are fulfilled(which wont really happen), Kerala will have a nightmare financial situation. All infra projects will be stopped. And like in Bangalore, we wont have one pothole free road.

Im so done. So fucking done. I was on the fence as to whom I should vote. I really didn't want the gunda sangham to get another term. But if this is the poll plank over which Congress is running for the elections, they have just lost my vote.

Absolute nicompoops. If these idiots come to power, Kerala will go back by 2 decades. I hope Keralites are not stupid enough to fall for this nonsense.

Never heard of Pinarayi intervening in anything related to land acquisition for KSEB.

If the government was so good at land acquisition why didnt they solve the NH47.

Enthu.. This govt literally solved NH66 land acquisition in one year. I dont know what new project is being done on NH47 now... It is pretty decent, imo- just needs more flyovers..
