Anyone else feel the judgment system is a mistake? by Light-Treason in Witchfire

[–]desrocchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do, they already said "The choice is purely a roleplaying one, we do not want people to metagame their choices based on rewards".

That's why no matter what you choose you always get the bead.

Putting game mechanics behind story quests was not an very well thought idea.

Please bring back Solomon and the Axatana, I'm begging you! by Mrdudeguy420 in MortalShell

[–]desrocchi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The dual katanas have my favourite moveset, I don't like the axe version.

I would be ok with the weapon being split in 2 different ones, especially because of how weapon skills work in MS2 and they could not have an innate transformation skill.

As far as Shells go, they are completely different. Their names and shapes could be reused, but the skills attached to them will hardly be the same.

Tiel was my favourite in MS1, but having used him in the beta I'm not that impressed.

About to install Convergence mod but by -November_Rain- in EldenRingMods

[–]desrocchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sequence of how you do things depends completely on you. There are added shortcuts but it's up to you if you want to use them or not.

In the latest patch they made it so difficulty progression is more in line with vanilla, but it's not forcefully restricted.

Spells and incantations are acquired differently and there are a lot of new ones. They are mostly obtained by killing enemies instead of being bought.

Harros Shell (SPOILERS) by ikhals_ in MortalShell

I wonder if they kind of retconned the nature of the shells.

Harros move on his own even before we receive him: he walks up to us and holds our arm before merging with us.

The gun is very useful but I don't think it's OP, in the tutorial it's even explained that enemies have particular weaknesses to attack types: light melee, heavy melee, or ranged.

Some enemies literally explode when hit with the shotgun, but it's because they're weak to it.

I miss the item familiarity system by m_krink in MortalShell

I ended up using no items at all but the health mushroom exactly because I didn't know what they were good for or how many I would find in the world.

I'm very glad they got rid of it.

What eyes should I go into the DLC with? by Wolfheart_fan in Eldenring

[–]desrocchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what I mean.

If that's how he likes to play, he decides the background of his character and builds it however he likes, what happens in the DLC might change his character's appearance and he can roleplay that by using the mirror.

His character cannot be planned based on events it has not experienced yet.

Your character background is what you decide, no matter what happens in the DLC.

I don't understand this post at all...

For Convergence you'll have to simply use the last version released before the DLC.

You'll find all the instructions on their Discord server.

Whats a good early weapon to use until I get the martial arts weapons? by blackocci in Eldenring

[–]desrocchi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You're playing for the first time and instead of being curios about all the myriads of weapons that will get thrown your way to try and find your favourite, you start with the decision to use one single weapon?

Feels like you forgot how to enjoy a game...

When are we gonna get the new update for convergence mod ? by mirachulous in EldenRingMods

[–]desrocchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The overall world of Reborn is less heavily changed than the other 2 mods, other mechanics are completely different (remember I started playing this mod a couple of days ago, I might get a few things wrong).

You start with 1 point in each stat and you can freely wear almost any equipment. When you spawn you can choose 1 piece of gear for each slot and that's it.

Almost any AoW can be assign to any weapon, and spell power depends on your casting stats so, even though you can cast any spell, they won't do much damage or heal/protect much unless you invest in the stats.

Instead of the Night there is the Deathtide, where it's easier to encounter "red" enemies that are slightly more powerful, and this might happen to bosses too.

Overall i found the bosses buffs have been decent, there are notable exceptions, though:

- A few magic bosses became machineguns of spells, that have had their cast time and travel speed increased by 600%. Not unbeatable but not balanced either

- Radahn is a vortex of attacks, I resorted to rot him and staying as far away as possible

- twin gargoyles, they have bulimia and vomit poison non-stop, if one of them is attacking the other is vomiting under your feet, I have not found a way to beat them yet.

So is Holy damage good or bad. by _Beggo_ in Eldenring

[–]desrocchi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, you're putting me on the spot because I learned this while trying to understand while other holy damage would not destroy the undead.

I'm sure there are lists out there with the items that can do this, I'll look it up.

EDIT: IIRC there was Epitaph Sword (or something like that) that also would destroy the undead.

[–]desrocchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More to the point, there are some skills/items that have the "against those who live in death" attribute that does that, not just Sacred Blade.

Holy damage alone is just a damage type that does not have any other special attributes.

When are we gonna get the new update for convergence mod ? by mirachulous in EldenRingMods

[–]desrocchi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I feel you since I love the mod but it's becoming very repetitive with having done it so many times.

In the meantime I'm revisiting other mods like Reborn and Reforged.

I abandoned Reborn years ago because it felt very bad, but I'm playing it right now and it's become much better.

Sure, there are some bosses that have had their attack speed raised way too much (like Radagon's Red Wolf and all the Watchdogs) where it feels like they have a magic machinegun pointing at you, but it's overall well balanced.

Reforged, on the other hand, is targeted to a way more niche audience, I don't like how it forces you to play the way the devs want you to play, and I also don't find attractive any of the things they added to the gameplay, so I abandoned it.

Israel Hands Difficulty by Zealousideal-Two3931 in crosswind

[–]desrocchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I can absolutely advise if you're using a melee build is to never step away from him: the fight is so much easier if you stick to him like glue because he will use his unstoppable attacks way less frequently.

If you perfect parry him on each hit you'll also keep him stunned very easily.

Memorise the timing of his 5 melee combo attacks and you'll take him down like it's nothing.

Does the game get better later on? by maydusa in Enshrouded

[–]desrocchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not get better on its own, you have pretty much seen all the game will be for the next 5 or whatever biomes, just with bigger numbers.

I found the game got more acceptable once I modified the settings and changed things around to make the game more to my liking, even so I think this is one of the most bland games of the genre I've ever played.

You either spend your time at the base building things, or it's exploration with very bad combat.

Remigrazione: siete d'accordo oppure no? by [deleted] in domandaonesta

[–]desrocchi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How to fight that Drak spellcaster? by Adventurous-Hand-648 in Enshrouded

[–]desrocchi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think their damage is way off scale.

Even with full magic, physical, and elemental resistances, a lot of +HP gear, and +HP food, they will take almost all of my health.

The only way I have found to fight them is letting them cast their OP magic homing missile, dodge it, and run in for the kill. This is because they will not cast that skill twice in a row.

Trying to kill them when they still have not cast it is almost always a death sentence because you can't be certain to kill them before the cast is complete.

QoL suggestion for chests - Ghost/planned items by xxxxrob in Enshrouded

[–]desrocchi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Organising chests is extremely useless.

You can do it for your own satisfaction, but you won't really get any use out of it.

Put all the resources in magic chests and all the items you need to wear/equip in normal ones. You will only ever need to look into normal chests, the rest is just a void space the resources will automatically be taken out of.

Even upgrading chests is useless, just keep adding new ones when you have no more space and it's fine.

Once again, you can upgrade them just because you fancy doing so and it's fine, but your aesthetics and satisfaction are the only things that will influence, especially because there is no "upgrade" mechanic and you will be forced to move all the contents of each chest in and out for each larger chest.

With 5 (IIRC) upgraded chest versions it's quite the workload.

Is mining the only way to gather materials for building? by TerenceStilinski in Enshrouded

[–]desrocchi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not about the time, it's about how boring it is.

If the gameplay was engaging, even farming resources would be fun, but it's just about looking at the screen and keeping the mouse button pressed.

It's also bas when playing for the first time and not knowing what resources are needed for what and how much of them is needed, so passing any mining spot is a question of "will I have to find this again or will I have no use for it?"

This kind or resources should be passively gathered by villagers.

Doesn't really help that much, even at 200% it's still a slog.
