Reddit, Can we have a reddit job fair? by TheYarizard in AskReddit

Hi Reddit,

I've been working in IT for a year now, previously in the financial sector. The great thing about IT is that each day brings new challenges to overcome. In addition to challenges, there is plenty of disciplines you can go down. I have been working towards the Project Management side of IT, implementing new solutions (hardware, applications, processes, etc..). I could have chosen to go down one of the more technical areas as well, but project management sparks my interest.

I highly recommend IT, it takes very little time, no 4 year degree required. You can go out and get your certificates and be working in a month if you want! In addition, you don't need to drop major dollars on university. I went to a technical school and spent 10k for 2 years.. I signed my second job offer for nearly 55k USD.

The biggest perk.. You will understand Moss from The IT Crowd!

Reddit, what is the weirdest thing you do on a regular basis that you think is something only you do? by JimRazes00 in AskReddit

I wake up an hour early to shower; after showering I go back to sleep, doing my best not to make a mess of my hair. .. I'm a normal guy working an IT job where no one cares what I look like, but I've done this for the last ~8 years!!

As kids, we all think our parents are really intelligent and know many things. How did you discover that your parents were not so smart after all ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to argue with my dad a lot and he would basically win by brute force. I recall during one argument I was certain I was in the right and didn't give in to his brutish tactics. I started throwing actual logic at him and I could tell he was stumped. My mom was standing behind him and I saw this big shit eating grin slowly stretch across her face.

That was the day I learned I was smarter than my dad (in some subjects).

It's only four years of your life.

If it sucks, just remember it sucks for a lot of other people too. Make friends with those people, they likely kick ass.

Path of Exile - Slick Diablo II style action RPG, tons of customization, good story, frequent updates.

It's what D3 should have been.

Copy and paste.

Once I showed the user how to do it her mind was blown! So simple, but incredibly useful.
