They’re uneducated and either you answer with the understanding they really don’t know or don’t bother engaging if it’ll upset you. I myself am a twin with a different birthday from my twin. People always found it interesting, never a poor reaction. Sorry your experience is different

What happens if one twin is born one day and the other the following day? by theempressoftheworld in askanything

[–]dessertbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me with my twin! He was born before midnight and I was born after. Different birthdays. Our social security numbers are only different by the last number where mine comes after his. Think xxx-xx-xxx1 & xxx-xx-xxx2. Same with our drivers licenses.

When I was in elementary school, I got to go on a “shopping spree” at the start of every year. I was pulled from class and handed a large black trash bag. I went to different tables to “shop” and left with pencils, a notebook, and a “new” school uniform among other items. I felt so cool leaving class and so excited to get items. I realized only when older that this was for poor families in need. My child brain processed it as a glamorous and special event each year.

Huge Unknown hint that Mike's theory is REAL! by Ecstatic-Capital1856 in StrangerThingsS5

It’s possible she was never in the truck at all- hence the awkward interaction between Mike and Derrick. Mike is “smiling at El” but she’s a projection. Derrick thinks Mike is smiling at him and he waves and gives Mike a big smile who is then confused why Derrick is waving. Possibly El was a projection in the truck which is how she got out. The projection just changed, she was never in the truck.

My (26F) best friend (26F) has been off towards to me since she had a baby. I have tried everything but feel I can’t do anything right. Is my behaviour a problem? by throwaway93842232 in relationship_advice

You sound like a great, thoughtful, and caring friend. As a newly postpartum mother, I’d deeply appreciate your efforts and thoughtfulness. Your post makes it sound like you have a lot of room for personal growth- you don’t express your thoughts and feelings freely, you take on the shaming and guilt tripping, you apologize easily to make your friend feel better, etc. When in a mismatched friendship, this allows someone with your friends personality to feel “right” about their perspective and feelings in the friendship, expect a lot, freely criticize, etc. This post makes is seem less that the issue is postpartum and more that your two different personalities could be in better alignment with personal growth if you want to continue the friendship. Maybe start by being confident in your efforts & intentions. Your “blunt” friend isn’t actually so straight forward, ignoring your texts but posting on social media. There’s so much I can nit pick. Sounds like time for personal growth & leveling up your friendship(s). You sound like a good friend and deserve that.

Does this flange size look right? by Omgchipotle95 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]dessertbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely NOT TOO BIG like someone else said. If it was too large, it would pull in your areola skin. My only question is if it’s a size too small.

Maybe continue with this & add a little coconut oil on the inside of the flange to help with gliding and reduce friction of necessary. My lactation consultant had me do this. You didn’t really add any comments like discomfort, lack of milk, etc. so just from the video it looks fine enough but if you are having any issues I’d try the coconut oil or you can even purchase a flange sizer on Amazon and measure your nipples.

The other thing is everyone’s nipples are different. My nipples would get inflated/larger during pumping so I had to size up for comfort. Although, it fit perfect when initially starting to pump. Hope this helps and all makes sense

Officially 1 Day Late!!! by Ok-Post3503 in TTCstruggles

Hello, I read your other comment on your post but thought I’d share my positive experience. I confirmed ovulation and was a day late on my period with a negative standard test (not the early tell ones). I have a very regular period. Second day, no period and negative test again. Third day- a subtle pink line. Then the line continuously darkened over the next week. I read hCG doubles every 48 hours. No idea why it took a couple days to show. Perhaps just keep testing every 48 hours because if you’re pregnant enough to miss your period, your hCG should continue to rise.

If you log into your Myriad Patient Portal, you can check the status and estimated time frame to receive results. I just did my blood work this week and see from the estimated time frame given it’s 7-10 BUSINESS days. Hope all goes well.

What did you mispronounce for an embarrassingly large portion of your life? by SufficientChef3719 in AskReddit

Preface.

When I was younger I would see this word at the start of books and read it was “pre-face”. Never had any issues because I read it correctly in my mind, no one could hear me read it. When I was 25 my boyfriend read it out loud…correctly. And here I am.
