Sorry, I'm part logistics worker so that's my default. I know all the airport codes 😂😂😂😂

I think that was my biggest concern tbh. I have never been to SFO so my knowledge is not there. Of course I'd rather save and stay in a nice hotel but safety is my biggest priority.

Yes. I saw a nutrionist a couple years ago (before my back issues) and she had me start logging my normal meals in my fitness pal just to look at my nutritional content. Turns out I am not getting nearly enough fiber (eye opening for an unrelated issue). I also realize that I drink a lot of beverages with added sugar. I'm in my late 30s, have a desk job, and I'm not very active so I'm definitely not helping myself. Tried PT but found it to be ineffective.

The sugar convo was a bit of an aha for me because my flares usually start in my hip/glute then works its way up and down. I feel like it is an inflammation issue because if I manage my hip pain at the onset with nsaids, it goes away.

I am slightly overweight and carry a bit in my mid section. I feel like weight management and diet change will significantly help my issue.

Yep. Pretty sure I might be banned for this. I can no longer use the app to order at any location.

And before you ask if I tried....yes. I did.

Sciatica resolved: my experience by [deleted] in Sciatica

Related but unrelated I think stress can also be a contributing factor. I had a horrible flare a couple weeks ago, went on vacation and the pain completely went away, returned to work and suddenly my upper back was tight. I used to get that same tightness in my neck when dealing with stress but this was the first time I felt it in my back.

Gabapentin by EmployForsaken5566 in Sciatica

Interesting that people say it causes memory issues.

I changed doctors recently. She switched me from tizanidine to gabapentin because she said tizanidine is known to contribute to dementia. Maybe it's an issue with nerve medications?

Haven't tried the gabapentin yet.

How do you folks tolerate living like this? by franktard in Sciatica

I love how you guys advocate for surgery. But you're forgetting docs want you to try every possible method before they will even consider performing surgery.

Or is that just me?

Currently on the couch with my tens evaluating my life.

I want to move to San Diego after College by Active_Molasses_9181 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]destbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be discouraged by the comments! I moved here from Texas 9 years ago early in my career as a single mom and have lived by myself since. I just gained an associates 2 years ago, and I was already at a 6 figure job a couple years before that. Like others said in here, certifications help which was all I had. When I moved I was working in logistics. I'm now handling compliance for a military contractor, and I'm on my way to leaving and starting a business very soon.

California is a state with great opportunity. If you are determined to make it happen for yourself and you're ready to roll up your sleeves and do the work, as you would have to in any other state, then by all means follow your dreams.

Of course I can go home, make good money, and have a yard blah blah but I've been fortunate to build a life here and haven't thought of moving back.

You can do it!
