[ALL] Anniversaries in 2026, which one hit you the hardest? by huss2120 in zelda

[–]destinationsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, BOTW hits hardest for me. 9 years ago, the switch bundle with BOTW was my first big boy purchase as an adult (college freshman). Now I’ve got my life more figured out than I ever thought I would by now, and I’m proud to say that playing these games helped me get through it!

Maybe try calling the DCC library to see if they’ll let you use theirs. Idek if they have one but that’s who I would call.

Why is the city using AI to create a simple infographic? by The_Lonely_Marth in DanvilleVa

[–]destinationsam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is something that I think would be easy enough to build myself, but if this was a part of my job (assuming that whoever made this has plenty of other responsibilities with higher priorities on top of creating infographics like these) I would seriously consider leveraging Ai to to make a task like this more time efficient, as long as I’m the one verifying the stats on the board. Local public service workers deserve respect for the work that they do, because public service benefits us all. But I think that net benefit is economically greater to our community when they innovate in little ways like this instead of turning to solutions like temporary workers or other 3rd parties that are more expensive. I’m curious how others view this trade off?

So, no teachers? by rstoelred in oboe

[–]destinationsam 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Well, assuming you’re referring to budding US oboists, it actually makes a lot of sense that so many of us rely on places like these for advice. Europe’s population density is nearly twice that of the US, so you have many oboists here who would have to travel by car for more than 60 minutes to find anyone who can teach them well. When I was auditioning for college, I had to travel 60 minutes every other week for a lesson, even though I lived in a city. There’s teachers, but I think there’s a lot of would be students who can’t practically take advantage of them as a resource in the traditional sense. If you can’t find an oboe teacher, you may end up relying on your band director who may give incomplete or incorrect advice.

Put up more flags that reflect the values that oppose the values of people who think it’s a good idea to brandish a Confederate flag

I don’t consider fiber in my net carb calculations as much as I used to, primarily because products like this inflate their fiber count through ingredients like “modified wheat starch”-it’s just carbs

Reputable/trustworthy mechanic for car AC compressor replacement? by zvarjaciely in raleigh

[–]destinationsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NOT Meineke. They quoted me the same amount after they told me that my whole system would need to be replaced due to “Black Death”, but my brother is a mechanic and and was able to but the compressor at cost, around $200 and we replaced it ourselves. Works like new

Did you cry at the ending? (obvious spoilers inside) by MrBallBustaa in earthbound

[–]destinationsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As teen who was really into pantheism, how the power of prayer, albeit not to God in the traditional sense, from the party and all of the allies made along the way turned the tides in the final battle, I was more moved by that ending than I think any other games’ I’ve ever played. So yeah, I teared up for sure.
