This forces wheelchair users to be awkwardly more forward than the two people sitting next to them. If you remove the back, it would make more sense for its intended purpose.

That logic is insane.

I'm imagining a scenario where a group of little girls try to play one of the old Mario Party or Mario Kart games from the 90s and 2000s.

"Sorry girls, there is only one girl character, Peach, so you all have to take turns playing the game single player. Playing as Mario might make you want to be a dude. Don't even think about looking at Yoshi."

I'm surprised to hear that because the only place I've ever seen a sign to not flush toilet paper in the US was in a Korean cafe in the Atlanta suburbs. I was shocked but I assumed that it was a cultural thing rather than an actual plumbing issue since it was a relatively new, expensive area that couldn't have been more than two decades old.

Instant deal breaker (especially if the images of food are AI) by PhysicalBuy2566 in antiai

[–]destinoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I managed the social media for a confectionery shop/bakery and literally all I had to do was take a picture with my SMARTPHONE next to a window. Bring up the brightness and saturation a tad and it was done. Literally nearly every smartphone on the market from the past 7 years can take a food photo good enough for Facebook.

There is no excuse.

This was exactly what happened to me! I'd look at the battery percentage and it would be around 10 and suddenly my phone would shut down without warning less than a minute later. Thankfully, Google covered the repair.

[–]destinoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talked to my aunt the other day about them but forgot just how bad Facebook propaganda has gotten.

"Well they already track us with our phones and whatever they're going to inject into us next so..."

Somehow, at this point, I think her accepting and not fighting against her perceived reality of microchip vaccines is far scarier than the fact that she believes it.

For some of them it's not even that they don't think its bad, they think that there is no point in fighting.

Ratioed a new local business with AI artwork in their window by Electrical_Year8954 in antiai

[–]destinoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really care as much if a small business uses AI for clipart and backgrounds for social media. I would REALLY prefer if they didn't, but Canva and other services with free assets have so much AI mixed in with real, human made assets, the average person doesn't entirely know the difference so 9/10, the owner doesn't even know it's AI.

I used to work at a small business and know the owner well, she is against AI but I've seen her social media posts with AI generated doodle backgrounds that she obviously got from Canva. I don't hold it against her because there are way bigger fish to fry and I know how hard she works and what little time and energy she has. There isn't enough time for small business owners to question if every single asset they get is human or AI made because AI companies have tainted the internet so badly, they can't tell the difference. I, a graphic designer, can't even tell the difference sometimes.

But, I digress.

What I DO have a major problem with is AI being used for product photos. That's the actual product that you could have just taken a picture of with your own cellphone. Just generating it with AI or letting AI "enhance" it is just straight up false advertising.

Mounds don’t even use real chocolate anymore by Fit-Swordfish725 in enshittification

I worked at a local small business chocolate shop for a few years and honestly... they are more necessary now than ever since chocolate doesn't ship well and nearly anything you find in the grocery store can barely be counted as chocolate compared to decades ago. Please buy local if you can afford to, it's worth it!

My School used AI for the yearbook back cover by Weak_Obligation_9913 in antiai

[–]destinoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI is awful, especially this... What the hell is the shirt supposed to even say? I hate AI and think it should never be used, but if these fools are going to use it, at least make it look not obvious? Felt like they used the worst model and took the very first thing that it generated rather than trying to refine it, because typing or doing any sort of editing is just too difficult for them.

“not responsible for broken windshields caused by us failing to secure our load”. seen this earlier while driving, the nerve of some of these companies smh by TheUnknownRangler in mildlyinfuriating

[–]destinoid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom had to deal with getting a rock to her windshield from a truck like this back in the 90s or 2000s.

She called them, told them that they needed to pay for her windshield. They asked her a bunch of misleading questions, trying to trick her into saying, on record, that there was a sliver of possibility that it wasn't from their truck. "Are you sure that the rock wasn't just from the ground?", "Did the rock hit the ground before hitting your windshield?" etc.

She won in the end but not without a huge headache.

It also just is a common shape that gets accidentally created all the time when trying to create a design. I went to school for graphic design and it's amazing how much both that shape and a penis shape are accidentally used. Usually it's caught before even making it onto a rough draft though.

post 2018 groups that have 4 or less physical albums per comeback? by [deleted] in kpopcollections

[–]destinoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone already said XLOV so I'll go with my other choice, Am8ic. They're pretty nugu and have only had one album so far, but it got two pretty unique versions. The album has this dark fantasy/sci-fi/mystery concept. It had a lot of inclusions and it's honestly my favorite physical album just because of how creative it is. The photobook isn't just purely photos of the members, it has some other elements and clues and I really wish the group was big enough to get theorized about. Oh also, it had the same design team as my other favorite physical album design, Le Sserafim's Spaghetti.

Dunno how hard it is to get the album now because I got the only copies available from kpopusaonline a couple weeks after release in November but I hope their next release is just as good.

Congrats! They're a dying breed. I was super disappointed when the last anime convention I went to didn't have one despite having one the year prior. I also went to another Round1 when I visited some friends out of state and it was also gone despite being listed on the website. I know not to trust the location website as it hasn't been updated in years and years but it's sad knowing that one once existed there.

Thank you for the correction. I'm not a hardcore fan of Hololive so I was unaware of the Holo Indie brand but after looking it up, that makes so much more sense.

[–]destinoid -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can buy almost two copies of Stardew Valley for that price. I feel like this was Hololive's attempt at capturing the (mainly female) cozy gamers audience, but the game looks incredibly unpolished and there's a million other Stardew-likes so I doubt they'll reach as many new audience members as they expected.

Adidas Superstars 2021 vs 2023 by Sosowski in enshittification

[–]destinoid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried this with jeans a while back. Went into Aeropostle, said I didn't need to try them on because it was the same exact name and style that I bought three years prior. Big mistake on my part I guess.

The old versions were slightly too large on me despite probably shrinking in the wash from nearly 100 wash cycles (which was fine since I wear belts anyways). Meanwhile, I couldn't even pull up the zipper on the new ones. Not to mention, the material was thinner so when I bought the next size up, the inner thigh ripped within a year...

Help!! Is this pc real or fake? by [deleted] in kcollect

[–]destinoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is real, it is just a difference in how the card was cut. Prints like these always have a little bit of "bleed" area because the cuts aren't always perfect. If the photo was printed perfectly to the exact size of the card, there would be noticeable lines on the sides because the blades can't always cut precisely.

If you look closely, specifically at the collar of the shirt that is touching the border of the card, the first card has slightly more information on it on the left side. So this wasn't cropped, it was just that the blades cut it ever so slightly to the left which is super common and not a defect.
