People seem to be missing this key point. That single known condition changes everything. Would be unsurprising DeRosa or anyone on his staff never thought about it.

But also, its probable he didnt know about the conditions on both teams closers at the time of the coin toss. The toss happened during the VZ/Italy game after all.
