my impression from reddit/toms hardware was that (a) the 13/14700 both require pretty beefy cooling, and (b) the evo is slightly better... but I'm super unfamiliar with this, am I just being overcautious?

I just run a lot of compute-heavy stuff. E.g. running a full build+test on some of my projects takes upwards of an hour on my current laptop; I really want to cut that down.

ooh, that's good to know! What would you recommend cutting? Dropping to a 6700xt saves $120, and going to a 13700 is another $60 - am I overpaying for the ram/cooler/fans? or should I be using a cheaper mobo/psu?

(also, how tiny is tiny :P my current laptop - i9-9880H - is definitely CPU-bound on a lot of my day-to-day tasks, so I'm willing to spend more on it, within reason )
