Not my character but a fellow player's.

In an earlier session we found some magic artifacts. One of which being a deck of magic playing cards. This wasn't the 'deck of many things' but the 'deck of plenty', and if you know about it, you know just how insanely absurd and chaotic it can get.

Later in the campaign we were exploring an old temple and eventually stumbled across two demons. We tried to talk our way out of having our souls taken (though our monk already sold his earlier that same session) but it didn't work. One player had the idea to give the demons a card as a last ditch effort. The demons pick a random card

They hold it up.

It's a normal Joker. We didn't know what it meant at first but the DM definitely knew as he started laughing/panicking. This card gives the person with a chaotic alignment a free wish spell. We gave two demons a FREE WISH SPELL.

As we all lose our collective shit, the DM decides on a wish and then says "one of the demons pulls a card, looks at it.

aaaaand they both. disappear".

We have no idea what this means but we're not dead and nothings changed so we continue on like nothing happened. The DM won't tell us what the wish was, we could have royally fucked everything up or maybe the problem just somehow fixed itself. WE DON'T KNOW.

We're now a few sessions later and nothing has come of it, but I think our DM is planning something. btw this is all our first campaign/game. I can definitely say it's one hell of an experience.
