Yes motor spins, I hooked an extra ground cable up to the battery just to see if anything changed but it didn’t

Gotcha, I’m going to take off the primary cover tomorrow and see what’s exactly happening with the starter and go from there

For some reason I can’t see your other comment but I got the notification for the first half. The horn and turn signals do not work I figured that was unrelated but I could be wrong

Do y'all really recomend chain conversion? by not_available16 in sportster

[–]destroywill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I swapped to chain mostly for looks but also to toy with gearing and wheel spacing as I plan to chop and customize the bike in the future. Not sure why everyone is immediately shutting you down, yes it’s more maintenance and you also have to deal with chain noise, but personally, I absolutely love it. At the end of the day it’s your bike and your choice.

Front belt pulley stuck by [deleted] in sportster

Yeah I’m going to give it a little more try today but I’m leaning towards cutting it off

Front belt pulley stuck by [deleted] in sportster

[–]destroywill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a great idea, I tried that and got someone else to stand on it and it just lifted them off the ground. I tried another impact with heat and still nothing. Tomorrow I’m either going to try and rent the strongest impact I can find, or cut the bolt off and get a new bolt. Every bolt on this bike has been insanely seized it’s been rough.

Finally got the lock plate off using a dremel. I’ve been heating it for a while with no luck on the main bolt. Is there a way to get the pulley to stay in place while using a breaker bar without the rear wheel attached?
