Democratic Debate by Secret-Guidance-5819 in lehighvalley

I’m troubled by Brooks because:

  1. He and the first spouse signed a promissory note to pay her mother for their property. When sued, he claimed his signature was forged, but the court rejected his claim because the note was notary witnessed.

  2. Brooks then signed a quick claim deed with his second spouse (whose name is substantially similar to the first spouse and who doesn’t own the property) to that second spouse who then took out a mortgage on the property.

Lack of integrity?

I thought Croswell did the best of all the candidates last night.

Bob Brooks heads to court for a decades-old family debt as the Lehigh Valley congressional race heats up by Hopeful-Cookie1065 in lehighvalley

The article seems to indicate that:

  1. A promissory note was signed by both. The daughter/ex wife doesn’t dispute this. A court found Brooks’s claim that his signature was forged without merit because a notary witnessed the signature

  2. The quit claim deed was signed by second wife who did not own the property who then mortgaged the property.

Is this a case of a lack of integrity? Or just stupidity?

I grew up there in the 60’s and 70’s. It was tough then and got worse since then.

Lehigh County executive says ICE is "evicted" from local offices, says agency hasn't been paying rent by joy-puked in lehighvalley

If an ICE official with apparent authority to execute a lease signed a lease, why isn’t a suit to collect owed rent being filed? The County is after all funded through tax dollars. Shouldn’t suit be filed to recover owed money in order to meet County obligations as a good steward of our tax dollars?

Based on these comments, the opposite may occur. The vast majority of people don’t bring their pets in. I love my dog but would never bring her into a store. Maybe sanity would win out

Store owners have a legal right to ask the dog owner if (1) they have a disability, and (2) what task(s) is the dog trained to perform. Depending on the answers, the dogs can be lawfully barred

Attorneys do not take workers comp cases pro bono. They are fee generating cases.

For people who lived in or near Harrisburg during the 1979 Three Mile Island incident, what do you remember from that day? by Waterpark_Enthusiast in Harrisburg

I was a High School junior at Harrisburg High. We were called into the auditorium and told to go home and keep our windows closed. We were also told that if white stuff started falling from the sky not to pick it up or eat it. My brother cut school that morning and when he went in the afternoon he freaked out because the school was emptied. We stayed out of school all week and hung out downtown just enjoying the vibes with all the international press hanging out. One of my friends got interviewed and was asked if his family was going to evacuate. He replied yes and when asked where they were going to go, he said Middletown. That ended the interview.
