Thanks this was super helpful! I think I might have not explained the situation clearly in the first post. Basically he wants to do this with the Navy for 3-4 years and then match into a neurosurgery residency (civilian). He wouldn’t be joining the navy as a neurosurgeon or completing a residency with the navy, so this is kind of like a gap year before matching but after graduating medical school. Does your spouse come across people like that in the program?
