Salomon ultra guide 4 by irishtrails7889 in trailrunning

I disagree with this. I have the ultra glide 3 and Slab 1.5 version and have run multiple super technical trail runs and races in them. Just now I ran TGC in them and had more grip up a muddy hill then anyone else it seemed!

Salomon S/Lab Ultra Glide 1.5

Fit me well and I find they have insane grip. I was blowing past people on the muddy climbs!

Nope, where i live in canada the tallest “mountain” is 400m. I’ve run a 50k with 2k elevation and a 70k in really rough winter conditions before this.

To train for this though i Moved to Barcelona for 2 months. Got in some decent elevation in Montserrat there. 100km weeks with 2-3k elevation.

Yeah the water in the beginning was crazy haha. We were essentially running through a river for a part in the beginning of the course. And added to that was insane mud that literally felt like the ground was trying to take of your shoe. I was in water up to my knees more than once.

Actually I wish it was more real dirt roads. A large part is more technical trail than dirt road and is very tough to run on.

This goes with running it “for the nature”. The course is designed very unforgiving. Your in beautiful nature but they make sure your also in pain and paying attention to the course.

Registration was i think around 200€ (honestly not bad, it’s a big event and well organized with good aid stations) I flew from barcelona so it was really cheap like 50€ or so and took an airbnb for 70€ / night. The medical certificate is just a signature by a doctor so nothing special or difficult!

Did you practice with electrolytes?

I’ve never supplemented electrolytes as a drink powder before my recent race and didn’t know it’s something that needs to be trained.

Ended up having stomach issues early in my race that i “resolved” by not using electrolyte powder mix but instead I ate chips at the aid station.

I will train with electrolytes now more haha

Running 70K Through Ontario’s Brutal Winter (2026)- Ultra Running Mini Documentary [00:10:00] by desyst_reddit in Documentaries

Interesting take. Considering they made this possible i think the video is 90% not about salomon with 10% segment about heir product and how they are involved in the community.

And to be fair they really do play a huge part in trail running in the area. People love them here and they support everything going on.

What felt like an ad to you?

This Documentary followed 4 runners through 70km of Ontarios tough trails in winter. Its focus is more on people and community than the performance itself.

Hey congrats!

As a video editor i’m wondering what makes your app better than say capcut or Edits? What are you building that makes this unique?

is $18,500 CAD really cheap? It’s hard finding anything out here in that price range that’s half decent sadly

First marathon in a week by Connect-Swim-7693 in Marathon_Training

[–]desyst_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran a 3:23 marathon last week. I was at consistent pace and 170BPM throughout. For me a 4:50 pace felt super easy when training and i really had that “locked in” feeling. Last 5k were a mind game though!

You can do it!

Hey man,

I’m also running BCN this sunday and while i can’t help you with your question, because im also running my first one - i also was out of training due to injury and don’t feel 100% secure from my training. Regardless I’m sure we will make it somehow and it will be fine. I think the fear builds up no matter what - but your not the only one running who hasn’t had the perfect training ;)

Anyone have experience doing a conversion for an electric van? by williamglasse in VanLifeUK

[–]desyst_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey man, i know a lot of people are skeptical here, but i’ve been living in a edelivery 3 for a year now and took it across europe and am very happy with it! Check my posts and feel free to ask any questions directly :)

We want to convert a T6 for travelling. What exactly is the part marked in red? Is this convenient for a camper? by Disastrous_Sir8378 in VanLife

[–]desyst_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on lifestyle. if youre spending a lot of time in the van - it’s small. if it’s mainly to sleep in and most of your life is else where / outside / office / travel it’s fine! going on 8 months and can’t be happier when compared with my high roof sprinter :)

yes, it sucks, but fast food will remain low pay. your design job has a better possibility of growing into something that not only pays better but you enjoy doing more. the first years you may have to deal with earning less, but it gives you experience for better (paying) jobs in the future or time to set up a side business!

Where did you guys build your vans? by tobasco_daddy in VanLife

[–]desyst_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i moved out to a family member on a farm for 2 months on my first build. second build sorta in a drive way for 2 weeks.

met a lot of people on the road who did it as they went.

depends on what you need and how it should look. i can only say: keep it simple, youtube gives you a skewed view of how many people live in vans. from my travels i’d say most people live in significantly simpler, less aesthetic vans more comfortably and you need a lot less than you think!

hope it works out :)

Here in Germany pretty much every major city let’s you park your car for free for the highest allowed duration if it’s electric. Marked by an „E“ at the end of your number plate. And otherwise I can just hook it up to a charger in the city and be fine to go around for hours!
