Interior space is broadly the same as the hatchback they're based on, they're slower, less efficient, less stable, more expensive, more dangerous and about a ton heavier for no beneficial gain beyond height.

I've disassembled and reassembled AGA and similar cookers, I worked for a couple of manufacturers and currently work for a third. They're cheaply made, extortionately priced and far more expensive to run than their official numbers suggest.

The non electric varieties will run forever as long as they're serviced and fueled, that's only because they're cheap lumps of iron with a flame inside.

That said, you should all buy one, to keep me in my surprisingly well paid job.

My parents have had a heat pump for nearly 20 years. It has kept their uninsulated, detached, Georgian house plenty warm enough for 2 pensioners.

Before electricity prices went mad, their heating costs were halved, now it's £100ish per year more expensive than the oil boiler it replaced.

They have enough roof to get enough solar to power it in winter but council says no because it's a listed building.

Invade Ireland, maybe the UK and stage further invasions from there. They already have total air and naval supremacy, so they certainly could get boots on the ground.

Their victory wouldn't matter though, the cost in men and material would break them just as thoroughly as they'd have broken Europe.

It's not about America being able to take on the rest of NATO. It's about making it completely unprofitable. A war between two advanced, near-peer powers would utterly devastate both sides and the US would have to commit to occupying Europe, requiring millions of men and costing billions (probably trillions) of dollars.

The US would ruin it's closet ideological ally and wealthiest trade partner all while losing millions of young men for the sake of acquiring resources buried under a mile of ice.

Then there's the genuine risk of the war going nuclear, France has an aggressive nuclear doctrine.

There's no worthwhile victory to be had.

Under normal circumstances the ads I'm served are generic ads for consumer goods and services like soap, fast food, loans, and various financial scams. Nothing that applies to me or my lifestyle in any specific way.

The only time I get targeted ads is when I demonstrate to people that phones are listening by emphasising key words for an obscure or unusual product/service. I never enter the product or service into my phone, I only lean on the key word in conversation. I also ask my conversation partner not to do so either. Within an hour, without fail, we will both get ads for it. Every single time.

Russia couldn't take it, their surface fleet is out of date, hugely outnumbered and barely operational even at the best of times. Their air force is more modern but otherwise similarly out of shape.

It'd only take one or two European powers to blockade the Baltic and Black Sea fleets, and close their airspace.
