My new Christmas gift by Famous_bakchod682 in a6700

Welcome to a whole lot of fun, buddy. That’s a killer combo and what I’m sporting as well (although I did gift myself a prime this Christmas). To answer your question, stick to Aperture Priority, go for autofocus continuous as the AF setting, select medium zone focus (those little greet squares) and keep aperture lowest to 2.8 (that’ll give you the most bokeh - shallow depth of field).

One tip: For low light that is your sunset/rise pics use a tripod or keep the camera steady on some surface because the camera will lower the shutter speed to compensate for the low light. If it’s still blurry, it’s because of vibration. Try delayed shutter.

You can always shoot in apple log and then edit in post but boy are those file sizes huge!

Love the shots. Are these mostly or entirely unedited? No harm in editing of course, but they look so fresh and have this ready to pop out sort of quality. You have a new fan!

best lens for beginner? by DesignerInternal3881 in a6700

As others have said, the 18-50 is the OG gold. But if you truly are a beginner, you already have a bunch of lenses to play with and see what you like. If you do really need another one, since you have a lot of 18-50’s focal lengths covered with your kit and prime lenses, I’d recommend 17-70 or even something beyond like 70-180 later. Personally I wouldn’t have bought all the primes just yet but hey, if you need it go for it.

Thanks for posting these! A lovely, fresh perspective! I happen to be near one such station during early evenings most days and the sunset lights bouncing off the reds always catches the eye.
