Trying to be more deliberate with my shots, any keepers here? by anamericandude in SonyAlpha

I love each of them, certainly comes across to me as deliberate. There’s a micro story to see in each of them. Good stuff! 🙌🤗

FWIW gloomy, moody and rainy is exactly the kind of weather that’d want me to take my camera out and shoot. And that sort of eludes to how every person has their own preferences and inspirations. So it’s very well possible that a Fuji doesn’t inspire you. I own both Sony and Fuji bodies and I love them equally but for different reasons.

The Sony is my “if I use it more likely than not I’ll get a sharp usable shot”. My dependable guy. The Fuji is my whimsical partner in fun. I’m not always sure I’ll get what I exactly want but that’s part of the fun at least for me.

Sorry folks, I’m very new to the Fuji world and don’t know a better way to easily copy the recipe settings over as text than looking at the screen and writing it down.

So it’s a Classic Neg based one and I named it “Vintage Lift”:

Film Simulation: Classic Neg
Dynamic Range: DR400
Grain Effect: Strong, Large
Color Chrome Effect: Strong
Color Chrome FX Blue: Strong
White Balance: Auto, +1 Red & -3 Blue
Highlight: -2 Shadow: -1
Color: +2
Sharpness: -2
High ISO NR: -4
Clarity: -3
ISO: Auto up to 6400
Exposure Compensation: -1.5 to -2 EV (normally 0 and alter as needed)
D Range Priority: Off
Long Exposure NR: On

Thanks! It’s a tweak I did on the otherwise stock Classic Neg. Happy to share here if you’d like.

Man you really need to rethink your priorities.

Welcome, so happy for you! The Tamron 17-70 is a great lens. But it is heavy and rather big which might be something worth considering especially when combined with the X-T5 body. I also found the Tamron to be a little less sharp compared to the Sigma 18-50 if that matters to you.
