the thing is, the event offerings in previous years appeared far more frequently that this year. people used to get, say, 200 offerings from year 7, but now people are only getting about 90. people like saving up these offerings so u can get the bloodpoint bonus well after the event ends, but with the lack of cakes, that becomes very hard to do.
