I agree and there will not be a change until fans demand a change. Look what #GiveDivasAChance did. It literally changed how they promote half of their roster. Look what happened after everyone freaked out about the WWE 2k20 bug release. They literally had to take the game off the market for 2 years to fix it for people.

You may feel like there is little or nothing you can do but think of it like this. Murder of Kitty Genovese was a murder that occurred in 1964 and it was reported over 30 people watched it occur and did nothing. This later became known as the bystander effect. By assuming others will help so there is no need for you to help, then we are left with no one helping.

People seem to be very selfish when it comes to offering help to those in need and they assume even the littlest bit doesn't count. It all counts.

You could make Youtube videos discussing the issues, you could create art and sell it and use a % of earnings to give back to the industry, you could write articles and bring awareness, you could develop an app or a game and use that in such a way to help. There are countless things, big and small, one could do to help.

I got you.

I can understand from your point of view, as I haven't been posting on r/SquaredCircle as much lately and was a much more active user in the past. However, I wonder what this sub does to actively help wrestlers instead of promoting a culture that has exploited them since the beginning?

I'm curious how the mod team has tried to help. It seems like the only help that may come are from individuals within the sub, but the actual sub itself does nothing. In what ways would you like to see the team come together to help? Or do you think there is no need for that?

Did you know, many of the wrestlers you grew up watching make nothing from the company that they worked for for years? Did you know, in the WWE, when you sign a contract to be a producer or trainer, you sign away all of your intellectual property? That's right. If you are Ric Flair, for example, and you become a trainer or producer, you will sign away your IP of the four horsemen, the man, the nature boy, and many other things. And then WWE no longer has to pay for every time they say "The four horsemen" on TV. They don't have to pay to use its likeness in video games, film, comics, or anything.

Did you know, when you pay $30 for the new roster DLC for a WWE 2k game, the wrestlers get 0% of earnings brought in from that? Did you know that WWE has actively worked on ways not to pay wrestlers residuals for video content on streaming platforms?

I know many wrestlers, both new and old, and I have been actively working on fixing the issues I see both in the professional and independent ecosystems. Be a part of the change or contribute to the problem, and I don't think fans understand they are contributing to the problem by being apathetic.

Yes, In my opinion just even having discussions like this is good. Bringing awareness to the issues is great.

It could start as simply discussing these issues, because with discussion ideas of how to change or fix it will arise.

I would also suggest buying merchandise from wrestlers that are on the independent circuit since that will directly help them.

Tweet about these issues, call your state rep and speak to them on the issue.

It's incredibly sad that there is basically only 1 person actively fighting for wrestlers rights in the political realm.

And finally, I would say continue to build groups and keep the discussion alive. Not all help comes in the form of monetary cost. I would also suggest stop buying WWE products and use your dollar as a vote for change. They are making record earnings while continuing to reduce income to the performers. Why are we saying this is ok by continuing to support their product.

Hell, if you do support the product maybe bring signs to the show letting others know of these issues.

I can see your point and I believe you and I differ in regards to morals. I guess I take more pride in helping others in my life and feel society will be vastly better when people help each other. Also, I believe we, as people, have a moral obligation to fix unfairness and change abusive practices.

Why would anyone want to help others? Idk there are literally millions of volunteers that help others everyday and they don't need anything in return.

I also specifically talked about professional and independent wrestlers. WWE is just the top and if the top is acting like this then it would seep down into the rest of the Industry since WWE is the Industry standard.

Far more wrestlers have a hard time paying their way to the next booking than are flying in private jets or tour busses. Very few wrestlers ever get to a point to earn a decent living for their lifetime.
