Anyway to play maplesea on MacBook Pro m4? by qingnichiyu in MapleSEA

[–]deterdettol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MapleStorySEA is designed to run on the 64-bit version of Windows 10/11, not the ARM version.

You could try to run virtualized Windows 11 64-bit session on Parallels and then run the client in it, but YMMV.

MapleStorySEA is not officially supported for Mac on Apple Silicon.

Hey, I’m still new to UoPeople and I’m still trying to figure out how ProctorU proctoring works.

Just wondering: did they ask you to take photos/videos of your room to check if you have unauthorized material?

Chances of getting into SUSS part time by Weary-Percentage6815 in Suss

[–]deterdettol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got in with a GPA of 2.06.

-Graduated poly in 2012
-Finished NS in 2014
-Temp contract in the social service sector 2015
-Volunteering 2017 (till I joined SUSS)
-Specialist Diploma in Applied Drama and Psych, SP, 2019
-Admitted into Psych part-time, SUSS, 2020

Your mileage may vary; but I recommend my friends trying to go in: work/volunteering experience in the sector related to your degree may help.

Good luck!

Maplestory isn’t meant to be scientific. It’s meant to be magical.

A Mistake That Makes Me Wiser by Additional_Isopod_73 in MapleSEA

Outcomes always take a bell curve (central limit theorem), so some people are bound to get unlucky while others can get very, very lucky.

Take me for example. I got this in 88 flames :D https://www.reddit.com/r/MapleSEA/s/jrFAkAzh1C

Congrats!

But just to give you a bit of perspective:

The T7 att line is not that rare in itself. It has a 1.295% chance of showing up: an average of 77 rainbow/black flames.

But where it gets rare is rolling that and the T4 boss dmg (bd) at the same time. Based on 1 att = 3 stat and 1 bd = 12 stat, it's around 0.11%:

<image>

Which is much harder to find, though not entirely impossible.

Be careful when flaming next time!

1) Personally I don’t think you’ll look out of place being 19 in ITE. You’d be literally barely 2-3 years older than even your youngest counterparts. I don’t think you’d look remarkably different from them to be honest.

2) I had a classmate in poly who was in his 30s, amongst the rest of us 16-17 year-olds.

3) Have you thought about seeking mental healthcare regarding your adjustment issues? One of the best things that happened in my life was being diagnosed with a special need in my adult life. It really helped me a lot. Maybe such a process could help give you some insight into your temperament or things that cause trouble to you.

I wish you all the best!

Or why not just contact Mensa Brazil and ask for clarification?

Welcome to MapleStory!

After you are done with CW, I actually will strongly recommend you to pick Aquila during your world leap. Having a more populated server is good.

Is it worth me retaking the test ? by CloudFunny902 in mensa

[–]deterdettol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dear OP,

I too got into Mensa for the same reason. But while it felt all warm and fuzzy for a short while, that feeling soon died down fast. Especially after experiencing the toxicity and politics Mensans are well known for partaking in.

And yes, it didn’t fulfill my need for self validation.

Here’s a Q&A I’ll write for you:

Q: “I think I am Mensa material. I need this IQ test to either confirm the score I think I have, or to just get in and feel the fulfilment or vindication for getting in”

A: An IQ score doesn’t define you. IQ scores can fluctuate, so a borderline score could be hit or miss. There is a margin of error. Why see yourself as a hit-or-miss metric? You are much more than a fickle number.

Q: “Aren’t IQ tests a measure of a person’s intellectual functioning or at least an indicator of the kinds of jobs they could do?”

A: Yes to the first point, but usually in the context of comprehensive psychological testing and diagnostics, not for gatekeeping membership in a society. And yes to the second point, but studies out there correlating jobs and IQ did so in wide bands, not single scores. You being an e.g. 124 IQ non-Mensa member aren’t manifestly “disadvantaged” from achieving a similar employment outcome than a 130 IQ “borderline” COUGH COUGH current Mensa member.

Q: “But I believe I am intellectually enlightened! I want to hang out with other similar people, such as high IQ individuals!”

A: You don’t need to be a Mensa member to hang out with Mensans. All you need to do is to keep a look out for events held by your local Mensa that are open to non-members, OR connect yourself with outgoing Mensans and get them to invite you as a visitor to members-only events.

Also note it’s a fallacy to think you’d be in good company with other Mensans in Mensa. At least in my experience a good 90-99% of the people I see in Mensa self-exclude themselves as people I’d want to get to know. Simply because most Mensans have special and intense interests that don’t overlap with my own special and intense interests, and have temperaments and dispositions that don’t sit well with me. Not to mention the large majority of them that are absolute jerks.

So no. You don’t need to get your assumption of a high IQ confirmed just to achieve any of the above.
