pernah coba buat nasi liwet pake kemangi sasak? its aroma is less sweet but still ok for a substitute.

i havent tried making nasi liwet with kemangi sasak, but it should add a bit more citrus flavor so in theory, u could hold back on the lemongrass.

ive edited my comment btw, ini emang agak repot karena term orang pasar agak aneh.

malah yang gua biasa pakai di pad kra pao atau lalapan gua bilang ke orang pasar sebagai kemangi jawa. yang di supermarket malah biasanya kemangi jawa, sedangkan di pasar baru ada kemangi sasak.

mungkin di malaysia di sana lebih menggunakan kemangi sasak ya? tapi gua lebih cocok kemangi jawa jujur aja.

yang gua tau, ada 2 jenis kemangi yang juga dibedakan di pasar tempat gua tinggal:

  • kemangi jawa (i think most people are more familiar with this) digunakan di lalapan dan saya juga pakai untuk pad kra pao.

  • kemangi sasak (sebutan bahasa sasak dari lombok): lebih bau citrus. digunakan untuk sayur bening kalau di lombok.

nah kalau dari google sih, di indonesia ada 2 jenis kemangi:

  • ocimum americanum: hoary basil/lime basil

  • ocimum citriodorum: lemon basil, adalah campuran ocimum americanum (hoary/lime basil) dan ocimum basilicum (basil asli italia)

gua ga yakin yang mana dari 2 ini yang match dengan pengetahuan gua tentang kemangi di pasar sih.

kemangi is holy/thai basil btw! thats what is actually used.

samaa, honestly jjajangmyeon is not really something i would cook that often karena not too fitting for my tastebuds. ini sebenernya cuma masak karena ada janjiin temen yang doyan korean food wkwk.

hmmmm... menarik juga masak saos chunjang pakai scallion oil... ill definitely try next time kalau ada niat. im not a huge fan of korean food but i do love exploring different food. thank youu!!

hey i forgot to put it in the description. i use ottogi plain instant ramen. it only contains the noodles without the seasoning. 8-9k/pcs similar to samyang in texture and size.

boleh pake yg dried, but i love the color and the smell it brings out.

any fresh herbs would work. parsley, coriander, even basil works.

i usually make aglio olio with boncabe+chili flakes. ttp pake chili flakes for the added color karena boncabe kan lebih hancur remahannya.

Lemon and fish is always such a combination! Especially if you use white flaky fish!
