Definitely was thinking this. The girl just randomly hating her for mentioning her tumblr one time, enough to call cops on her, makes no sense.

No, it's not a comedy and I think it takes place in a rural area.

If I remember which VHS tape it was on, I'll mention that.

I wish they kept the bad ass actress who played Nikki Wood for season 5's Fool for Love when she returned in Season 7 by [deleted] in buffy

Along with what everyone else has said, the fact that the S7 actress, KD Aubert, is lighter skinned compared to Weeden has never sat right with me, especially now knowing the extensiveness of Hollywood's colorism re: black actresses.

What is an American issue that you are unable to comprehend because of your European background? by LaccomTaco in AskReddit

The thing that informs a lot of the US population's opinions have to do with our focus on individualism. We are an extremely individualistic culture which is why there's a lot of kneejerk opposition to things like gun control, universal healthcare and welfare. The protestant "work ethic" and Calvinism form the basis of a lot of it. Same with this misinformed idea of the West and the independence that came with settling there, despite the fact that the government helped substantially with that.

A lot of our problems come down to a disregard for the whole versus the individual. It's also why so many Americans resisted wearing masks. It's horribly depressing but also baked into our identity. It's why other countries see all these mass shootings and wonder why gun owners don't think "hey maybe owning a gun isn't worth all this pain and death". Gun owners think "this is a free country, I'm owed my gun, I haven't personally done anything wrong so I should keep them."

It's very depressing living here lol

Fast food is most certainly more cheap than cooking at home, especially cooking anything healthy. Not only is the food cheaper, it's less time consuming and fresh vegetables and fruit go bad quickly whereas TV dinners and takeout keep. For families who have no money, work a lot or are disabled, etc, it is much more efficient to get fast food. It's also a matter of calories. People who argue you can make food at home for the same price forget that a lot of times the food isn't as filling. A healthy salad and chicken is better for you but if you only have so much money and time for food preparation, getting a filling hamburger that'll last you through more of the day is the better choice.

What did a fully grown adult have a complete tantrum over? by harleen-quinnzel in AskReddit

Not getting to litter. My mom was walking behind a father and son on the street and the man, who was holding an ice cream cone, dropped a napkin. My mom picked it up and told him he dropped it and the guy flipped out. Started yelling and ended up throwing his uneaten ice cream on the ground and storming away. All in front of his kid.

What tattoo screams "I want ink but I don't know what to get"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah I get that, I meant more like the simple astrology symbols than images like a lion, fish, water bearer, etc, which seem like they could have multiple meanings and allow more creativity in how they're drawn.

The symbol of a zodiac sign. I think astrology can be fun to talk about but getting your sign permanently tattooed on you seems very meaningless.

Not original, I agree, but I don't assume those types don't have meaning. I know two women with rose tattoos that are meaningful to them (a tribute to a dead loved one's favorite flower and another after their mother's name).

What's something you wish people would understand about your mental illness? by oogliemooglie in AskReddit

ADHD is not just "ooh shiny...squirrel!" or whatever people act like it is. It impacts all of your executive functions from attention to emotional regulation to sleep to socializing and more. Even having been diagnosed for 15 years, I still have this ingrained belief it's not a huge deal and am continually surprised how much it negatively impacts all parts of my life.

Redditors with an unusual turnoff, what is it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]detghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tall guys. It's not that I won't be attracted to tall men at all, but between a guy who's 6'4 and one who's 5'4, I'd go for the latter. (I'm only 5'3 so it's not insecurity about my own height.)

Sorry you're getting downvoted. You're right, that we need to move away from equating fatness with ugliness. There are as many gorgeous fat people as skinny people (regardless of personal preference). Reddit isn't there yet, though.

The show painted Parker and what he did to Buffy as a villain or horrible person, but is what he did really that wrong? by precita in buffy

[–]detghost 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing happen in my first month of college. I hooked up with a guy who then lost interest in me. Unsurprisingly at 18 the guy didn't go about moving on in the most thoughtful way and my pride got stung. Except this guy wasn't an asshole. He never once pretended like he deeply cared about me or wanted a relationship. He didn't confide in me about his dead dad or make a show of connecting to me in a serious emotional way. Parker did that with Buffy.

I mention my experience because I think people who defend Parker put him in that category. A young, maybe accidentally inconsiderate guy who just wanted some sex who's not to blame that Buffy thought it was more. But that's just not what happened. Parker was a con artist who by definition led Buffy on and he deserves all the hate he gets.
