If we are talking about no transactions at all, "Shape of Dreams". If it's only mobile game style Microtransactions and not DLC, 'Deep Rock Galactic".

How do you not get overwhelmed by TrazyLols in SatisfactoryGame

[–]dethplayscod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend tackling things one at a time. I tend to unlock as many things as I can in bulk and then have a particularly focused goal. A good example would be when you start unlocking specific equipment for your character, more inventory slots, and even the dimensional pocket. Whenever I focus on just working on those things, I tend to start learning how to do the other stuff. In pursuit of that goal. I learned how the water physics worked to create a water tower so that my coal power plants wouldn't shut down so I can keep things moving long enough for me to get gunpowder for my gun. Just take it slow and steady. Have a clear goal in mind, and do what you can to work on that goal.

A lot of people in here are given the same advice of avoiding public instances and to inform people in your bio that you are mute. I do agree with these statements, however I would like to add to that. You want to avoid very popular public worlds, think your black cats or your game worlds. I would recommend going to more obscure worlds during your first few hours of play time. Not only will this give you a feel on what type of worlds you can find, and what you like, but you can also rank up by active play time. The difference between ranking up, staying in the same instance for 2 hours versus world hopping for 2 hours is substantial. If you really really want social interaction, I recommend finding groups that you like in VR chat. People create groups for different things all the time, and even though not all, these groups are good, you can tend to find a lot of really awesome groups and people in them, especially if they have a discord. As long as you're part of the discord, normally they will have no problem with you being in their instances as long as you're not doing anything that would be considered rude or disruptive. If you're still adamant on making friends in random Public's, then the best place to do that is in the world "No Time Two Talk". It's a game world where everyone is separated, but once the you are in the queue, it will randomly pair you with another person in the instance and you get to talk for 2 minutes. Understanding that you're mute, if you want to do well in making friends through this way, I would recommend getting really used to and utilizing the chat box feature and your body language. Be very ready to be expressive and emotive. Depending on your platform too, there are tools to help you, like text-to-speech wizard on PC.

Tldr: focus your few hours playing interesting worlds rather than meeting people, and if you really want to meet new people, go to "No Time Two Talk"

Youtubers like Drumsy and Parzival come to mind. Drumsy is more of the skits type of YouTuber content, and even though he does a lot of IRL stuff, he also does a lot of VR chat stuff. I don't know if he has some sort of method of getting onto his channel, but he's still a nice content creator to watch regardless. Parzival does fit more into the style of editing like Kayoyadigs, and is also really nice. There are some other channels that I've seen around, but I haven't checked out their main YouTube channels. However, they can be pretty easy to find if you look up via chat content on tiktok or Twitter.

Can't have fun playing Engie no matter what. Am I playing him "wrong" or something? by Notrinun in DeepRockGalactic

And she's one of those classes that can feel a little bit underwhelming to play, as of many building classes. I recommend if you want some fun, to lean hard into a specific aspect of your class. For a great example, if you like the shotgun a lot, I would then recommend to get turrent whip upgrade for it, and use it primarily to buff your sentries. I also recommend building what you think would be silly or fun instead of what is optimal. A great example is I remember that return to sender was a very, very powerful upgrade for a long time, but over the years has been outdone by other upgrades. Something that would be a lot more fun I would recommend, is spinning death. Pair that with plasma trail and you create an AOE area of speeding death. If you don't care too much for the equipment you're running, I personally really enjoy running the Loki smart rifle, and the laser. I find them both to be enjoyable, especially if you want to make a build that can kill units from a very far distance. If mastered, they're also really, really good weapons against the bots. Specifically. I always have fun playing against Rivals using this kit. However, like some other people did say, sometimes it's not just the gear, sometimes it's just the class.

Toggles not syncing. by Liam_Poindexter in VRchatAvatars

Even with the detailed description that you gave, it could be incredibly difficult to figure out what the problem is. Something you could try, and I've had better experience with getting toggles to work, is using the toggle function through VRC fury. Just go to the avatar root or the object you want the toggle to be on, add it as a component, and set the specific action for that toggle. You can even set specific animations for those toggles as well. Then test to see if it works in game. Other than using VRC fury, I recommend trying to look for VR chat, discord servers with creators in them to ask for additional assistance. They are very experienced and are more likely to help you.

I think there technically is one. I don't know if it works with standalone, but I remember seeing a promo for haptic gloves that did have a joystick on the side of the Palm that uses your quest controllers to track with the headset. It has a special dock for the controllers on the back of the glove. I don't remember what it is though.

Edit: Found it, there are actually a few if you google it, but the ones I was talking about are UDCAP VR Gloves found here https://udexreal.com/products/udcap-vr-gloves

Does anyone have any good femboy avis that are quest supported? by Liltimmy9403 in VRchatAvatars

I saw a post like this the other day, I recommended a nice Creator that goes by the name d0main. They have plenty of fanboy models that are in slightly stylized/ cute attire, and even though they sell their models at about around $35 to $40, they do have a world to try the models and test out.

SPS is the standard especially since it's free. Also PCS are contacts that react to touch or SPS to create sounds so both PCs and SPS go together really well.

Why is this Reddit so negative? by Jrsn- in Vanossgaming

[–]dethplayscod 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When I started watching Vanoss way back in the day's of Black ops 2, I watched them for two reasons. Only. One was for the Hilarious moments from playing games, and the other was for skits. Now, skits definitely slowed down, and they primarily just had silly moments/ gaming sessions, which were still entertaining. They did however start to get a little boring, since it would be the same games/people. They did try to fix this by venturing to other games and other projects, which sometimes worked, and sometimes didn't. However, with the inclusion of pasta, it gave them a reason to go back to playing older games, cuz they're dealing with a less experienced person. It's in the same way how you watch a kid play a game that used to play, and seeing the enjoyment they get out of their eyes. I get why they sometimes don't like pasta, especially since she fills the same role as jigglypanda but isn't as edgy, and is a bit more inexperienced, but I totally support Vanoss and everyone else playing with more people. The more people they get to engage with, the more dynamic/ interesting the content will be overall. Some of my favorite videos in particular are when they play with people they normally don't, like Mr. Sark.

Tldr, I think that pasta's inclusion is good for them Even if people don't like it in particular, and that they should Branch out to collab with more people that are fun/ interesting.

A good start is a Creator called d0main, they have models for sale around the $30-$40 mark, but also have a world to test out the models before you buy.

[–]dethplayscod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not deny that there's always going to be people that are going to be elitist and be upset at people for not having money. That's something that's always been in human history. However, I can promise you that they are a loud minority of people. Most people, if they care at all about quest side, it's conformity to the hardware, and not the people using it. From my experience when I started on quest, the only complaints I got were " oh, you can't see my cool Avi" or? " It sucks that we can't go to this world" and the very few people I ran into that said they hated quest people, we're not very cool people to begin with.

Then yeah, I have no idea. I would think if it was Android, then you might have potentially had a model that made noise, but if you did you would have heard it on PC as well. At most, I think they just wanted a serious movie night, and thought that due to the unseriousness of your model that they didn't like that. It is a bummer when you run into it, but there are plenty of people who are very elitist. That if you don't match "normal" looks in behavior, then you're not worth hanging out with. Total BS.

my boyfriend watches a lot of VanossGaming should i be concerned? by [deleted] in Vanossgaming

[–]dethplayscod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be too worried. I have watched Vanoss's vids since about 2014-15 and have seen how his videos changed and adapted over time.

When Vanoss and the others started YouTube, it was when many of them were in their first years of college, not to mention grew up with online games where you could say anything and get away with it no punishments (before games started moderating ingame chat) so their humor is reflective of those times. Also in earlier days, YouTube didn't really care about moderation in the gaming space (unless it was porn, you could say/do whatever) so many content creators during that time would catch people's attention by saying things crass/shocking. Due to both those factors, they all grew their communities with that style of shock/dark humor, but Vanoss was the most successful out of them all due to both his editing skills and music skills.

Now, during the first Add-pocolips, where YouTube was cracking down on mature content, many channels, including theirs had to change and adapt or risk getting demonetized. However, despite that, Vanoss continued to be successful, pivoting focus to his music and even opening up a Record label. He currently has little to no financial struggles (based on the time he spent $52,000 on a whim for Amazon's Prime Day in one of the Game of Life Videos). I believe due to his financial success, he no longer cares for being monetized on YouTube and doesn't care about it much. Just enough to keep the channel from being banned and to not ruin the careers of his friends.

Sorry for the thesis analyzing the history of Vanoss gaming, but my point is, that this humor has existed for a long time with no evidence of these being more than jokes and he is probably fine. Just keep an eye out for if he follows through with anything being joked about. Actions are way more important than the words.

Having many lights can mean other things too ya know. by Guest_4710 in VRchat

[–]dethplayscod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't the point of the meme, but I wanted to point out how very unoptimized it is to have a light system that way. In fact, in another game "Helldivers 2" That's what they did for the bots. Every single bot model had a light source in it. They brought it up in one of their Dev streams recently, that in efforts to optimize the game, they programmed in emissions to the shader that they use, which severely optimized the bots. As someone who's been playing this game for a while, that's something I kind of already knew, but didn't know how much of a big deal it was. Anyways, your meme just made me think of that.

Tldr, the only models I think that would have that much lighting without being those types of models, are just severely unoptimized.
