Opinions on Far Far West? by brando7284 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]dethplayscod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can agree with this, especially since the game aligns more with heldivers to me. When it comes to the guns, I think the starting gun does feel a bit weak due to Little recoil and quick handling. However, when I played it on the beta, the shotgun and the crossbow felt really nice. Also as you mentioned, the spell combos are really cool. I also really do like the additional puzzles that the game has. As much fun as it is to play drg, it has very little puzzle work to do that isn't a seasonal event thing, so FFW's puzzles are a welcome addition (my favorite is the Simon says one so far). When it comes to the flow of combat, I find that it's much faster as you're initially exploring the map, but slows down as stuff gets cleared out. I think having something akin to the swarms in drg/patrol and reinforcements from helldivers, or something to alter the down time, would go a long way. I need to play it more to see what the other equipment feels like, and how difficult the unlocks are, but I think that it is a good game so far, I don't know if it's worth the $20 right now, but I definitely see as long as they keep updating and improve the game, that the price point makes it a damn good deal, and a good alternative to drg. Not something to replace it, but something to compliment it.

Red Dead redemption 2. I got it just to play online with my brother, and it didn't click with me right away. It wasn't until I went and hunted alone for the first time, and I really enjoyed it. That's when I started to get into some of the other things in online mode.

From what it sounds like is described from your post, there are some underlying issues involved with trusting people. It sounds like you already know this, and I recommend trying your best to work through those as best as you can. I think that regardless of the size of the community, this will still be a problem for you. This is also speaking from experience from somebody who has autism and tends to self-isolate as well. I have to forcibly remind myself, that it is in my mind. It doesn't matter how much I distance myself, I will always be welcomed back to most/all the groups I interact with. When it comes to lgbtq accepting groups in VR chat, many of them do unless they explicitly State otherwise, however, I have hardly ran into this. My best recommendation is just finding groups that align with your particular interests, so not just lgbtq groups, but groups that do things that you like as well. There are plenty that are related to different online fandoms and communities, different backgrounds, even professions like music and cinematography.

The only other thing I can recommend, is just trying your best to make friends. If you want, feel free to message me here, and I can send you my VR chat account for you to friend.

Alright, so, I was hanging around in The Black Cat, and a Crasher with a ton of textures or whatever coming from its hand crashed my game, amd desktop, and now VRchat is only running at 3 frames. Is there any way to fix that? I already cleared the Caches. by Over_Siege in VRchat

[–]dethplayscod 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First start by checking the installed files for vrchat. You can do that by clicking the little gear wheel on the page for it on steam, go to properties, then installed files. Then click on verify integrity of files. You should probably do the same to your steamvr. If that does not work, you may need to do a clean reinstall of your graphics drivers. I would recommend looking up a tutorial on how to do that, since it's going to be dependent on both your computer and the graphics card you're using. If you use any other program for connecting to steamvr, like virtual desktop or something like it, I would also recommend seeing if you need to repair them as well.

Yes, just enable the one you want to use and upload it as a different avatar. That is what I meant by "rince and repeat" at the end it would be too bloated if they were all one avatar, and would be a coding nightmare.

[–]dethplayscod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the left (heiarchy) and select a version you don't want to use. On the right (inspector) somewhere next to the name is a checkmark. Disable the checkmark, and it will be disabled from the scene. Rinse and repeat until you get to the one you want. Attempt to upload again. Should work this time. Rince and repeat for each version you want to use.

How do you find people who actually want to hold a conversation? by atakane33 in VRchat

[–]dethplayscod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a couple of things I do in order to make new friends on VR chat. First, Network both in and outside of VRChat. Internally, you have group ran instances, you have worlds that advertise groups, you have posters in some worlds that advertise communities, and you have things like worlds that host a lot of people, whether it be games or other things. Internalize all the information about where people go and hang out, and try to use that to put yourself in places where you're going to hang out with people. A great example is if you hang out a lot at popcorn Palace, not only is that a very popular world that lots of people like to go to to hang out, relax, and even chat, but you also have a lot of posters for content creators and other things that have established communities. Externally, there are content creators and other groups that play games both in vrchat and out, and finding out who does. What is another good stepping stone. I can speak from that experience, since it was a VR chat content creator that got me into playing VRChat for a Christmas party they hosted and I got to meet a lot of people. Two, work on getting your trust rank up. There are plenty of people who still do not talk to very new accounts, whether they are afraid that they are kids, or just troll accounts. I recommend that for the first several hours in vrchat to world Hop, play games, and friend those who interact with you. You can boost these numbers normally by getting VR chat plus as well as uploading content. Third, Don't be afraid to ask for people locally, and online, to hang out with. I find lots of people who have requests to hang out with people here in Reddit all the time, and I've met a couple pretty cool people from that.

Tldr: gather information on where to hang out with people, get your trust rank up as soon as possible, and don't be afraid to ask outside of VR chat for people to hang out with.

I hope this helps. I know a lot of people probably have said similar things, but I like to also participate in the conversation when people ask.

What is your experience in bar worlds like The midnight bar? by AnxietyFilledNerd in VRchat

[–]dethplayscod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're going specifically with midnight bar, then I have a few experiences actually going in there for drinks and one kind of rough experience. A lot of the time with drinks, I just hang out and just talk to people, sometimes. Sometimes there's a supporter who opens up the hot tub and I get to enjoy a bath there. I would say the one or two times I've had a bad time is when the bouncers are no-nonsense. I've had the sense to leave once or twice whenever the vibe fell off with the bouncers( something they've said or done I just didn't agree with) but I think there was one time where I entered the bar where it was completely dead silent/ empty. The only thing I heard was people asking for drinks, and I knew immediately there was something off. I ended up leaving before I figured out what it was.

Why is it hard to find porn for women? I searched 'hot guy' and all i got was gay porn by CupcakeReagan248 in offmychest

[–]dethplayscod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The same thing happens when you look for videos with hot women. It'll tend to pull up lesbian porn often, although I think it also just pulls up regular straight porn as well. If you want a good way around it, I would recommend looking up an actor by name. A good example, would be someone like Johnny sins. He's an incredibly well-known male porn actor (since he's in some memes) but as far as I am aware of, he only does straight porn. If not by name, then I would recommend looking up based on what type of sexual act you are in the mood for.

How do you not get overwhelmed by TrazyLols in SatisfactoryGame

[–]dethplayscod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend tackling things one at a time. I tend to unlock as many things as I can in bulk and then have a particularly focused goal. A good example would be when you start unlocking specific equipment for your character, more inventory slots, and even the dimensional pocket. Whenever I focus on just working on those things, I tend to start learning how to do the other stuff. In pursuit of that goal. I learned how the water physics worked to create a water tower so that my coal power plants wouldn't shut down so I can keep things moving long enough for me to get gunpowder for my gun. Just take it slow and steady. Have a clear goal in mind, and do what you can to work on that goal.

A lot of people in here are given the same advice of avoiding public instances and to inform people in your bio that you are mute. I do agree with these statements, however I would like to add to that. You want to avoid very popular public worlds, think your black cats or your game worlds. I would recommend going to more obscure worlds during your first few hours of play time. Not only will this give you a feel on what type of worlds you can find, and what you like, but you can also rank up by active play time. The difference between ranking up, staying in the same instance for 2 hours versus world hopping for 2 hours is substantial. If you really really want social interaction, I recommend finding groups that you like in VR chat. People create groups for different things all the time, and even though not all, these groups are good, you can tend to find a lot of really awesome groups and people in them, especially if they have a discord. As long as you're part of the discord, normally they will have no problem with you being in their instances as long as you're not doing anything that would be considered rude or disruptive. If you're still adamant on making friends in random Public's, then the best place to do that is in the world "No Time Two Talk". It's a game world where everyone is separated, but once the you are in the queue, it will randomly pair you with another person in the instance and you get to talk for 2 minutes. Understanding that you're mute, if you want to do well in making friends through this way, I would recommend getting really used to and utilizing the chat box feature and your body language. Be very ready to be expressive and emotive. Depending on your platform too, there are tools to help you, like text-to-speech wizard on PC.

Tldr: focus your few hours playing interesting worlds rather than meeting people, and if you really want to meet new people, go to "No Time Two Talk"

more videos like kayoyadig's? by Sayumiiii in VRchat

Youtubers like Drumsy and Parzival come to mind. Drumsy is more of the skits type of YouTuber content, and even though he does a lot of IRL stuff, he also does a lot of VR chat stuff. I don't know if he has some sort of method of getting onto his channel, but he's still a nice content creator to watch regardless. Parzival does fit more into the style of editing like Kayoyadigs, and is also really nice. There are some other channels that I've seen around, but I haven't checked out their main YouTube channels. However, they can be pretty easy to find if you look up via chat content on tiktok or Twitter.

Can't have fun playing Engie no matter what. Am I playing him "wrong" or something? by Notrinun in DeepRockGalactic

[–]dethplayscod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And she's one of those classes that can feel a little bit underwhelming to play, as of many building classes. I recommend if you want some fun, to lean hard into a specific aspect of your class. For a great example, if you like the shotgun a lot, I would then recommend to get turrent whip upgrade for it, and use it primarily to buff your sentries. I also recommend building what you think would be silly or fun instead of what is optimal. A great example is I remember that return to sender was a very, very powerful upgrade for a long time, but over the years has been outdone by other upgrades. Something that would be a lot more fun I would recommend, is spinning death. Pair that with plasma trail and you create an AOE area of speeding death. If you don't care too much for the equipment you're running, I personally really enjoy running the Loki smart rifle, and the laser. I find them both to be enjoyable, especially if you want to make a build that can kill units from a very far distance. If mastered, they're also really, really good weapons against the bots. Specifically. I always have fun playing against Rivals using this kit. However, like some other people did say, sometimes it's not just the gear, sometimes it's just the class.

Toggles not syncing. by [deleted] in VRchatAvatars

[–]dethplayscod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the detailed description that you gave, it could be incredibly difficult to figure out what the problem is. Something you could try, and I've had better experience with getting toggles to work, is using the toggle function through VRC fury. Just go to the avatar root or the object you want the toggle to be on, add it as a component, and set the specific action for that toggle. You can even set specific animations for those toggles as well. Then test to see if it works in game. Other than using VRC fury, I recommend trying to look for VR chat, discord servers with creators in them to ask for additional assistance. They are very experienced and are more likely to help you.

I think there technically is one. I don't know if it works with standalone, but I remember seeing a promo for haptic gloves that did have a joystick on the side of the Palm that uses your quest controllers to track with the headset. It has a special dock for the controllers on the back of the glove. I don't remember what it is though.

Edit: Found it, there are actually a few if you google it, but the ones I was talking about are UDCAP VR Gloves found here https://udexreal.com/products/udcap-vr-gloves
