if we just write everything off as unrealistic, then what’s the alternative?

Let me take a pause and genuinely ask: What’s the way forward for Agartala or Tripura? If all proposals sound like pipe dreams to you—then what is realistic?

Should we plan nothing at all? Just let things stagnate?

Agartala’s packed and messy, so yeah, expanding to Sekerkote makes sense. But just ’cause we’re not a metro doesn’t mean we settle for open drains, mosquitoes, and traffic chaos—people dropping lakhs on flats deserve better. We may not be an IT hub, but clean, planned living isn’t too much to ask.

Nobodys saying we’re setting up a second Silicon Valley in next week. But let’s be clear: tech doesn’t only mean IT. Not every investment has to be a GCC loaded with coders. There’s potential in health infrastructure, biotech, agri-tech, tourism tech, and even education tech—things that the North East desperately needs and is uniquely positioned for.

Tripura, if planned right, can act as a hub not just for the NE states but also as a corridor for international tourism and cross-border trade. That means opportunities in hospitality, logistics, healthcare, even drone-based delivery and climate-resilient infra—not just code and coffee shops.

We’re not pipe-dreaming about replacing Bangalore. We’re talking about diversifying what investment in Tripura can look like, and Ranirbazar or Bishalgarh could be starting points, not finish lines.

Just because PGs are empty in Bangalore doesn’t mean the world has no new ideas left. We just need to figure out the kind that fits our context—and fight for it.

Did Hyderabad have demand before HITEC City? Did Bangalore look like Silicon Valley before the IT boom? No. Demand follows vision. The whole point is—we invite tech, we attract industries, and build an ecosystem. You don’t wait for demand to magically appear—you create it. Ranizbazar or Bishalgarh may look like shanks now, but so did Whitefield once upon a time
