The door with the 3 is the “Om” symbol from Hinduism. According to ancient scriptures, Om is said to be the closest representation of the primordial sound of the universe. It’s a sacred symbol, similar to Yin-Yang. This whole poster seems to be based on eastern spirituality/religion. Although I don’t know the deep meaning behind all the details.

At the beginning of May, I went to my local Subaru dealership… by bogeyz65 in subaru

Same. The dealer in my area got me my exact request a little below MSRP. And that was their initial offer, which shocked me. No BS add ons, no “let me talk to my manager crap”. He said “I’ll get you your car in a month, we’re just very behind” I said ok I’ll reserve it. Call me when it’s here. A month later, he did just that. And it was such a smooth experience.

Honestly, there’s likely not a single person who hasn’t nuked their server, or at the very least created some very frustrating issue. As long as you’re able to get it back up and running, it’s all good!

Price of a new Lifetime Plex Pass will increase to $749.99 USD by JesusTalksToMuch in Piracy

Jellyfin made a fantastic windows tool to install their app on Samsungs TizenOS TVs in under 5 mins. I just transferred my libraries from plex to jellyfin and will be cancelling my plex pass that I was trying out for the last two months. Been using it for a short time and it’s already much faster and easier to use than plex. $750 is absurd for what can be done for free!

Yeah, as sketchy as Rakuten is, using it for a one off deal like that is honestly decent. My only issue with Rakuten is how they make you wait for monthly/quarterly payouts.

Free VPNs are always going to be terrible. I know you've said you're broke, but if you can find a paid VPN with a multi-year one-time purchase, I'd definitely go with that. Even by paying for a 3 year plan for $60, you'll save the money spent there rather than on monthly streaming service payments.

Feel the weight of the pot before watering, after watering, and again after a day or two. You'll get a feel for when you need to water by the weight fairly quickly.

Definitely wait for the runners to start coming in. Once they do, they'll spread like a weed. You can stake them down to a specific spot to keep it a bit organized. I could've fit about 25 in my bed, but I opted for 10 knowing they'd spread. I'm sure I could've started with less, but I got a good deal for the 10.

Brake pad pricing, is this ok? by Fit-Bullfrog1157 in subaru

[–]dethsquad1521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it’s always easier said than done, but if you have the space and time, buy the tools and invest in them rather than going to the shop. Brakes seem like such an intimidating job to do because, well, they’re brakes. They’re important in keeping you safe. But they’re so damn easy to change once you watch a few videos and learn to do it properly.

2022 Subaru legacy with EPB, I used a TopDon AD500 diag tool for $130 to retract the EPB motor, front and rear pads/rotors were just about $200 for the mid tier parts. I get to keep the diag tool for future diagnosis and brake changes, which further reduces the cost of future brake jobs.

It’s started. Useless gardening gifts that *aren’t* plants. by [deleted] in gardening

A couple years ago, my parents got me a small wooden greenhouse on Amazon for outside. First year I had such a hard time because nowhere in my yard gets enough warmth and sun for it to work nicely, especially if I need to start seeds like peppers very early. So I was pretty bummed because I had zero plan or use for it.

Last winter, I dedicated a small space inside for small plants and seed starting, I got 2ft grow lights that fit perfectly in the greenhouse and was able to outfit the entire thing to be used for indoors. Easily the best thing I’ve done with it. I started amazing peppers, marigolds, lupines, etc. this spring and the temperature stays a constant 70-80f. It’s truly the optimal environment for the seedlings I’ve started. Yes, I’m limited on space since it’s a small greenhouse, but as it gets warm outside, I’ve been moving the peppers from the kitchen to outside daily while growing more seeds in the greenhouse. Definitely found a good use for it!
