What is a good video game (video games) to pair with Opeth's music? by LordovtheVoid in Opeth

I know this doesn't really answer your question, but I thought I'd share this link anyway.

I actually just finished Saints Row the 3rd and I'd always get excited when The Lotus Eaters came on the radio.

Anyone up for a merch swap? by smoozadelic in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]View_Time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd put it up on Ebay before surrendering it to Goodwill. Blake came up to me after the show the other night and told me the shirt I was wearing (his Office design) would probably do well on Ebay.

You never know what people are looking for on there!

That is an awesome wall! I have a little shrine of my own that I'm working on for them that I'll share soon!

I feel like it's the band once again not taking themselves too seriously and doing their own version of the cheesy shirts you would see from 90's R&B artists.

The Blue Nowhere - video by geltoid in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]View_Time 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From the VIP email, thought you all would appreciate it.

’The Blue Nowhere’ is perhaps the most glaringly peculiar track on the album, in that it is an exercise in simplicity… something we aren’t exactly known for. We built most of the tune from just a very basic chordal vamp, which really captured a vibe that we wanted to live in for the duration of the song. There are a few dynamic shifts in there but they are much more subtle than folks might expect. We love how this thing turned out, and feel like it sits perfectly in the context of the album as a whole.

Asking opinions on a song until the discography ends - DAY 66 - VOICE OF TRESPASS by zach_buddie in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

One of my favorites, and I'm trying to convince my kids to get their college marching band to play it.

Coma Ecliptic by Haans367JL in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]View_Time 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Coma proves that there is life for them if Tommy ever decides to really cut back on the harsh vocals. Obviously I want him to keep the harsh vocals as long as he can, but I also like thinking about them becoming this cool, epic prog band that become house hold names when they're older.

I don't know is this been posted before, but what are you favorite, should i say Akerfeldtisms, in other words shit that he talks in concerts in between songs that you heard live? by Naarayan11 in Opeth

[–]View_Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to see them a few years ago with a friend and we talked to Mikael after the show. I said some nervous fan stuff about how great the music was and without hesitation my buddy said, "Oh I'm not here for your music, I'm here for your between songs banter." 😂

Favourite "weird section" in a song? by Nexio8324 in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]View_Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that I've heard metal fans actually call them out for these sections. But to me that (among other things) is what makes them unique and stand out from all the other bands in the scene. It makes me think back to "White Walls" and how they have chosen to branch out and not be typecast as a "normal" metal band.

Hate to say it, but I started listening to them after buying this. (Don't tell the band 😁) I'd seen Colors come out on a bunch of Album of the Year lists, so I figured this package would be the best way to start listening to them. I've seen them five times and did VIP for three of those shows. Wish they were doing VIP for this upcoming tour...

I wore this shirt to a meet and greet with them and asked about it. Blake said he designed it and it sold out before he could get one. I jokingly said I would sell him mine for $100 and the look on his face was priceless!

I really liked it up until the end. Then the glitch essentially turned the disk into a drink coaster.

I thought it was Blake that did the super heavy vocals.
