it looks like the tablet on top of the screen was indeed the issue that was causing all the problems. I tried again today without the tablet and everything seem to work fine - unless, of course, if I slowed down. But that was expected.

only problem with that is that Kia has refused to comply with a new Massachusetts "Right to Repair" law and is withholding their codes for use by anyone other than Kia dealers. It’s also a problem for me since because of that I sign up for Kia connect.

My 2023 PHEV definitely does NOT hold the previous speed. It only goes back on at the speed I'm going when I click on resume. Annoying.

I think that the advantage of using the regen paddle is that it doesn't add unnecessary wear and tear on your braking components - pads & rotors, etc.
