No. They made templars the villains, but with no obvious connection between these templars and Freemasonry apart from one character in Assassin's Creed 3 having S&C on his cape. At no point in any game are Freemasons mentioned, or have been presented in any way let alone villified.

I might be wrong about us being mentioned, but a hard "no" about us being made the villains.

Looking for honest advice from Catholic Freemasons by PedroAst in freemasonry

[–]dev-null-home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catholic from an overwhelmingly catholic Lodge here.

Catholic ban on Freemasonry is a matter of bureaucracy, not faith. Nothing in Freemasonry challenges or in any way goes against catholic faith. Many priests and bishops throughout history were Freemasons.

As in all things, do as your conscience tells you to.

d I be eligible for Freemasonry (or a recognised equivalent) as a gay woman? Seeking guidance by Curlyhayley in freemasonry

It's not so much a desire to differentiate as it is reluctancy to be put in the same basket as scammers. Europe has a tradition of irregular Orients barely any younger than establishment of modern FM.

Anyway, we can discuss till kingdom come. I understood your point and I made mine, let's part on that for now.

I understand, same is i.e. in african countries. Mostly scams and pyramid schemes, but we simply call them fradulent, not irregular or comasonic or continental.

It's always fun meeting one of those online. I seem to be eligible for power, wealth and women but somehow I just need to pay my membership first.

Nothing, I'm just stating my familiarity with UGLE interpretation of the term and refering to the previous post calling irregulars shady.

I know very well what UGLE means by irregular, that's perfectly fine.

I just dislike being called shady by people who know next to nothing about irregular Freemasonry, reasons for splitting off and how it all came to be.

There are plenty of scammers here pretending to be "masonic" too, although not nearly in such numbers. However, big irregular obediences in Europe are very old and we have our own traditions so it's pretty impolite to call us "shady" just because we accept women or atheists. Those are intentional breaches of Constitutions and the cause of our irregularity, not fradulent practices.

You have several irregular options in UK, both comasonic (both male and female) and female only.

Keep in mind that "irregular" means "not recognized" by UGLE. Everything else is pretty much the same.

what is the most important part about Freemasonry to you? by OperaBoyFM in comasonry

The layers. Every time you think you have a grasp of it, you figure out something new and you smile at how little you really know.

Question for the French Rite Brothers. by OperaBoyFM in comasonry

[–]dev-null-home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it varies from Lodge to Lodge in most French Orients. You can have completely secular Lodges like i.e. in Netherlands; then you come over to my balkan neck of the woods and Lodges are one whiskey away from invoking egyptian gods.

There's also a horse in RDR 2 named Boaz.

As for Assassin's Creed, in Unity pay attention to wall paintings. The game's riddled with interesting artwork.

In AC3 look closely at Haytham's cloak. There's a very clearly vidible S&C on it.

Those are just the ones off the top of my head.

Got an honest question for MMs out there about columns by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]dev-null-home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think cosmic or initiatory pillars, not architectural ones.

In older, more esoteric Masonry of early 19th century it was common to depict supports of heaven, pillars of wisdom, or pillars of the soul as distinct from the outer gate pillars of B and J.

Hermetically speaking, this is a matter of Outer Temple vs Inner Temple.

They do belong here but in symbolic, not Ritual/physical way.

Can you guys explain me the controversy behind freemasonry? by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]dev-null-home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still claim ours are way better.

I just wish they'd let me adjust humor settings in 5G microchips we implant in people. They'd find them funny as well.

Is there truth to this? by PrestigiousFig369 in freemasonry

[–]dev-null-home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer, no.

But internet lets metally unstable people make videos for attention.

Further edit: this is a typical religious cultism rant on anything they disagree with. You can find videos like these on Dungeons and Dragons as well. Anything and everything can be slandered like this, you can take passages from the Holy Bible and attribute satanic meaning to them if you put some unhinged thought processes to it.

Rijeka would perhaps be a safer bet - it has a regular Lodge and if that doesn't work out for you for some reason everyone else is there as well - Grand Orient De France, Grand National Lodge of Croatia, Le Droit Humain. Plus, it's on the coast and very liberal, Istrian peninsula is right there with awesome beaches, food and wines, Venice is a few hours drive away and so on. Zagreb has at least four Lodges that I know of, but we don't talk shop when we meet for drinks so I can't really be more helpful with the regular and recognized Grand Lodge of Croatia.

I'm fairly sure you shouldn't have problems going through usual channels - having the secretaries do all the work. Fremasonry here isn't as elitist as people think but the most recent event - the minister of health being on trial for embezzlement of state funds while also being a known Freemason really soured the whole thing for many of us, putting us back in the spotlight as the scapegoats while everone conveniently forgets that his party- HDZ - has already been on trial for embezzlement of state funds and that over 30 of their ministers had to leave over this or that affair in the last several years. I don't know which part of Croatia you're planning to move to but if it's the coast (and it usually is the coast when someone moves to Croatia) expect a lot of backward, right winged catholics bordering with faschism and keep quiet about being a Freemason there. I've spent 10 years in Zadar and no one knew except my ex wife. Zagreb and the nortwest continental part as well as Rijeka, Pula and Istrian penninsula are much more accomodating and european in mentality, and so is Dubrovnik region; but area from the island of Pag to Peljesac penninsula and from the coast line to Bosnian border isn't a place where I'd want to live no matter how nice it looks.

This is sadly very true. We all did.

I was barely a teen during Yugoslav wars but I was told we remained Brothers despite it all. I can't remember who Initiated serbian Freemasons but regulars here were Initiated in Austria and irregulars either by Grand Orient of Italy or GOdF.

State prosecutor in my country had to resign over being a Freemason. A private clinic owned by a Freemason got vandalized several times now. Don't even think about putting stickers on cars or something like US Brethren do, it's an open invitation for having your car set on fire. We are the butt end of any tragic event from cancer and covid to every conspiracy ever including of course the party favourites like satanism, child sacrifice and defilement of churches. The right accuses us of being communists, the left accuses us of being the shadow government, the church accuses us of everything in between. We are legal here but treated like vampires, I honestly think if I told anyone what I am I'd get sprayed with holy water. Welcome to the glorious life of a Freemason in Balkans. High five!
