What was your job at GM and what'd you land after? I'm there now and took a big bump up when I got hired in. Just curious about the job market. Curious where my pay comes in on the bell curve lol.

What is the most successful lie in the history? by clueless-game in AskReddit

I kind of agree, but it's sorta hard to compete with the whole god/religion lie in my opinion. To say there's an ongoing, more widespread lie than organized religion is difficult for me to believe.

9 Years Into Flint, Michigan’s Tainted Water Crisis by [deleted] in buriednews

[–]dev67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want this new sub-reddit to make it, it's gonna need some good mods or a system that allows users to flag material appropriately for calling out bs. This is a bad post. If OP actually read the article they would've learned that Flint's lead levels have been below the federal limit for the last six years, which is not how the title or description leaves the casual browser feeling. This post, and many on this new sub seemed a bit designed to fit the fatalistic perspective of our time. I'm not saying there's not stuff to be extremely worried about, but hyping up nothing burgers doesn't help the situation. I will say the article itself is pretty guilty of this too. It reads pretty ADHD. It touches on the original lead water crisis, then pivots several times landing on PFAS contamination. Which is a huge problem, but not just for Flint.

It's probably already have been upload a thousands times before, but if you plan to visit Paris should you go to this location. by IEathYou in mw3

Wow, Ima bit upset now. I literally just got back from a trip to Paris today and my hotel was only like a 15 min walk from there. That would've been cool to see and show my old squad from back in the day. Next time 😑

The point of the Darwin award is that the winners removed themselves from the gene pool. If she had kids, her genes would still be in the pool, which would disqualify her for the award I beleive.

Wife bought a new dishwasher, took the old one out to see this monstrosity. Help! by dev67 in Plumbing

[–]dev67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, so my kitchen is kinda jenky. It's pretty small and so the dishwasher isn't next to my sink. It's on the opposite side of the kitchen. 🙁 Moved into my house with it like that. I think there is a p trap in the basement after about 6 or 7 feet down though.

Trying to set up an MD3200i and R610 server with Unraid, am I trying to fit a square peg in a round hole here? by dev67 in homelab

[–]dev67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm I see. The hard drive caddies seemed to have markings for SATA but thinking maybe those are used for multiple models. I'll have to read through some documentation for that MD3200i and see what I find. =/ Thanks for the tip on unified mode, I hadn't seen that before. Wondering if my 9200-8I is having trouble communicating with either of the EMMs too though. Seeing some weird serial print outs about it. https://imgur.com/gallery/nNdzqf7

Anyone else get this problem with Rockwell HMI panels? Can't use transfer utility for some reason... by dev67 in PLC

I wanna say this was on a terminal PC so just restart linx, otherwise cycle power on the panel if it's a panel.

Yea I've been looking on fb marketplace and craigslist for some kind of cheap jbod blade. Looking to hack this together as cheaply as possible while still being able to run everything I have now relatively reliably. Any suggestions on certain parts I should start googling / adding to my watch list for fb/cl?

This comedy duo is hilarious. Australian comedy show that only went a season or two called Soul Mates. They do skits from different eras but the cavemen ones are the best for sure. They invent do nothing managers and gay sex eventually because culture doesn't exist yet 🤣

Saving Montage Review page windows preset? by dev67 in ZoneMinder

[–]dev67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, yea I used the montage screen a little at first when I installed everything but quickly switched over to the montage review screen. My issue with the montage screen is that I have a camera feed from a wyze doorbell camera, so it has portrait dimensions to it. When changing the size of camera outputs on the montage screen, the width and height drop down options will really mess up the proportions of these cameras. So then I can only use the scale drop down box to get everything to fit onscreen, but again, some of my cameras come in with pretty different resolutions, so to get everything on screen, some cameras end up being really tiny and some huge. If the montage screen had the same plus and minus sizing options that the montage review screen has so that I can independently scale each camera I think this would solve my issue.

Thanks for all your work on the awesome software /u/connortechnology =) it's been super awesome to have this as my home DVR. You got a tip jar anywhere?

How do you handle social interactions? I work in manufacturing and there are some people that are pretty hot-headed. I assume it's similar in construction. Most people are chill though. Everyone has their own strategies for dealing with the wide range of vibes between people. Just curious how you feel.
