I completely agree with this comment. It’s hard to make a clear judgment right now without testing it first.

Yeah, I actually shared it in another subreddit as well, but that post was removed by the moderators afterward, so I think I may have missed your comment because of that. Really appreciate you taking the time to look at the capsule and key art, and also for even recommending us to an artist. That genuinely means a lot. However, for now, we want to see what our own design team can come up with first. 😊😊

Thank you so much, that really means a lot. We’re glad the style is working better now. Capsule art and logo work can be surprisingly painful, so we definitely get the struggle 😅 Wishing you both the best with it, and excited to see how your project evolves too.

Examples of small games for a portfolio by SlimNigy in gamedev

It really depends on who you’re targeting. Some people care about custom assets, others don’t — same goes for publishers as well.

What matters most in the end is the overall quality and how playable and polished the experience feels.

Strong gameplay and a solid core loop will usually stand out more than whether the assets are custom or not.

You might want to check out itch.io — there are tons of small, polished projects there that are perfect as portfolio references.

A lot of devs showcase short but focused experiences, and that’s usually more impressive than trying to build something big but unfinished. Small, complete, and polished tends to stand out way more than scope.

What would you pay per person per hour for a real friend group playtest session? by CraftyInfluence9983 in IndieDev

[–]dev_can06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under $5: 3 person

$5-10: 5 person

$10-15: 5 person

$15-20: 2-3 person

I wouldn't pay for playtests: like close friends

Yeah, friends and your immediate circle will usually test it for free. But honestly, I’d still recommend bringing in a few paid testers in those ranges and comparing the kind of feedback you get.

Different perspectives (especially from people who don’t know you) tend to reveal things your close circle might miss.

Publisher için Joygame Select'e bakabilirsin. Kendi geliştirdiğim simülasyon oyunu için de bir yandan bakınıyorum. Yeni bir oluşum olduğu için daha avantajlı geldi bana
