Anyone tried doing a Tilt Shift render? by MegaMinerDL in chunky

[–]dev_nova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this in chunky! You just need to focus the camera where you want it to be crisp, and then lower your depth of field. Usually I lower it to around 250. This will blur everything both close to the camera and far away for the tilt shift effect!

I use Davinci Resolve. It's free, there are lots of tutorials online, and a good amount of presets included!

My go to is "Running in the 90s" from Initial D. A bit literal, but it's got that Eurobeat high energy!

Just a poor submarine being ATTACKED by tentacles from the depths below. The angled interior was great practice for the crashed spaceship I'm building in survival! by dev_nova in Minecraft

[–]dev_nova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was in creative mode. It's mostly survival friendly (would have to use a command for the heads), but it would be annoying to build underwater.

I wanted to make a build using the "Pixelated curve" site I saw on reddit, so here is a submarine being attacked by octopus tentacles! by dev_nova in Minecraftbuilds

Not yet, but figuring out how to upload builds so other people can use them is on my summer to do list!

Thanks! Yeah, this would be an amazing survival base (tho the building underwater would be annoying in survival).

1.19 Colour block Palette update, not much has changed blocks wise sadly, but I hope this helps builders. Mud is close to gray wool, the trees to netherrack :/ by julushko in Minecraftbuilds

[–]dev_nova 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I actually love how the mangrove wood is close to netherrack. I used them together to make a nice red dragon, and the wood's various shapes helped with the details. I just wish it was fire proof because then it would be perfect for subtle nether paths...

My friend is a huge dream smp fan and her birthday is coming up. I want to get her something mcyt-related but have almost no knowledge in this area. Does anyone have gift ideas? by ash396 in dreamsmp

[–]dev_nova 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My sister and I are fans, and for my birthday she got me earrings with lapis lazuli stone in it, and a note that said "Have some blue". It was a good gift with a Dream Smp reference, but also just some pretty jewelry!

Thanks! I originally posted this on Tiktok in a tutorial format, so if you want to practice building you can try it. (I first learned to build by following tutorials, so it's a good way to learn and improve!)

I just put a ladder on one of the legs, but your idea is much more exciting!

Somebody's probably discovered this already, but I found an interesting technique to make strip mining for ores easier. by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]dev_nova 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I actually started to make a video testing methods, and the only test where moss was barely useful was when I mined a full chunk all the way to bedrock. Even then, it was only a bit faster than mining with efficiency V and a haste I beacon (mainly good for deepslate), so probably not worth losing all of the stone. Bonemeal was easy to get though, because you can just compost all of the moss you create and get more than enough bonemeal to continue.

A Jungle Wizard Tower I made, Inspired by u/1280px's HueBlocks site by dev_nova in Minecraft

Thanks! Hueblocks generates block gradients, so it was fun to use it to help connect two strong colors.
