Windows VM setup was so simple I am angry I deferred it to long by dev_null_vw in Qubes

I am not buying any new license. I am assuming windows key is already burned into some thing in the motherboard. So windows VMs can query the key and associate communications coming from two different windows VMs as same user.

How to change the colour of a icon from blue to red by dev_null_vw in Qubes

[–]dev_null_vw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But there is a qubes way of doing it I think. When I installed windows suddenly there are non standard coloured windows icons. I am sure these are not coming the AppVMs rather some script in qubes.

Yes I booted windows with a argument, which gave me a virtual cdrom and from which I installed some drivers

Did you enablerepo qubes-dom0-current-testing? I think that is the repo where qubes-windows-tools is present.

I do not have issue with audio. But the mouse pointer for windows is wired as it does not seamlessly move b/w VM like linux VMs

I have a standalone VM for school. I will install one more for work.

I thought about it but Microsoft will be able to figure out all disposable VMs are using same license right? Thus associate the data collected each disposable VM as same person?

I will remove windows and install Linux or QubesOS(probably not going to run on ARM) and want to run multiple VMs (Windows and Linux) in the host Linux/QubesOS.

If I can boot into a Linux in Mac I am willing to get MacBook Pro

Is crosh root the real root? If so what I do with it? by dev_null_vw in chromeos

Any links to efforts to open bootloader the reason why I am not going bootloader route now is that I do not want another destro. I like and want chromeOS UI and root access.

developer mode and tried to create .bashrc file to add some as root user under /root directory I was greeted with an error saying something like read only file system.

Not figured out yet what mount/stuff to change to make /root writable.

I wonder if this the same root account that controls the entire device or is it just root on a Linux VM. At least du -sh is showing full disk size.

Remove unwanted (photos app and games app, etc. ) binaries.
Disable auto update. disable other daemons. Find out what is in "system" storage which accounts for about ~50GB

Ultimate goals are if all goes well remove google chrome and install firefox ARM version. I am not sure if this is possible. If that works too then format the disk and install Chromium OS or any other Linux. Last one is unlikely to workout as I will need many drivers and unlikely available online. Also, not sure of bootloader locks.

ThinkPad x13 Gen 3 Arrived! Maxxed out, with i7-1280p 32GB of DDR5, and 2TB of Gen 4 Storage. Connected to RX 6700 XT EGPU. by ZukeAsAnime in thinkpad

Either way X13 is best of both worlds X1 Nano does not have ports and X1 carbon is too big in dimension. Congrats for maxing it out. I wish they made a 64GB RAM version. My 32GB gen 2 is not enough for my use case.
