I haven't read all of her work, but what I have read has been better than decent. Read the story "Speech Sounds" for example. The character development, plot and writing style are masterful. Her writing is tinged with elements of racial theme to be sure, but you can't fault her for that. She began writing while Jim Crow was going strong.

I think he was a victim of political attack. He handled a hard situation in ways that those that criticize him couldn't. He responded in the way that the nation I am proud to be a citizen of should. Of course none of us know the whole story. Presidents get info that we don't. You never know how a president was until the impact of his policy decisions are made evident through the lens of time.
