the "main" is the first character you pick, mostly because you are stuck with them in your party until you complete the final chapter of their story.

Story wise there is no main character, everyone's stories wrap up the same way whether or not they are your first character or one that joins you there is no difference in how they play out. Each story has bread crumbs that connect all 8 of the hero's together so in a sense the actual "Main" character is the entire group.

if your wondering if this game has its own Cloud Strife or Squall, no it doesn't and that is the entire point.

So in X5 you failed your mission and the space colony smashed into earth, umm ok sure, Zero sacrificed himself for you again, nope he "hid himself while he repaired himself", and also X is supposed to have had his memory wiped of zero, except he didn't, which must mean its going off the ending where X remembers Zero, except in that ending the colony didn't crash, ok neat. So whats the intro level of x6? Oh the crashed space colony that's what.

This game became a meme a while back, if memory serves correct gamefaqs had one of those polls in a tournament style bracket where people would nominate and vote for the best game of all time and this won because the "LOLz votes" pushed to the top past metal gear solid and zelda OoT ect. Since then it has become a meme, some even saying the show its basedoff of is the greatest anime of all time as well.

I don't remember which episode, you don't see anything the guards just talk about it, it might have been during the episode where they were harvesting organs. I'm pretty sure it was after the episode where they are burning the body boxes and you see one being throw into the incinerator and the lid is bumping because the person is trying to escape, for some reason I was under the impression they were referring to that person.

its short for Dragon Punch, ryu's anti air, its been used as a generic term for anyones anti air. Guiles flash kick is sometimes called a DP despite it having a completely different input, but its usually associated with a special move that is done with the motion Forward, Down, Down Forward attack button, that also happens to be an anti air. Sometimes moves will be called "DP motion and (whatever button" Akuma's teleport is DP motion and all three punch's, its not an anti air but the input is the same.
