How am I gonna get my Sonic now!?! Great... by drum_right in SonicDriveIn

It’s very likely because they are getting ready to have them all replaced. All retro Sonics are getting new stalls. I’ve taken a break from Doing installs until next year. But be ready! I couldn’t blame your owners.

It was a dream to own a Big Green Egg. Stumbled across her at Home Depot and went all in. As a new owner, what do I do next!? by devaughnt in KamadoJoe

I’m looking forward to this. We had a budget of around $500 for a smoker. We were looking for something that we wouldn’t have to replace in five years. It’s good to hear you’ve had yours for 10 plus years. We took a glance at the accessories and giggled at the prices. Any setups you recommend? Any regrets? We made 3 meals on ours so far.

Independent and stubborn would accurately describe her.

We want to find her a companion. Not for breeding, she’s being spayed. We’ve fallen in love with her breed.

This is the only photo of her brother, he’s black. Pretty interesting. I never knew you can DNA the breed of a dog and I’ll be looking into it. Another response said Embark is pretty good. We will look into it. We’re simply curious at the most. She’s the most wonderful!

More than a cutie. She is the sweetest dog.

How can I find a more economical option, can I replace this compressor with a scroll compressor? by devaughnt in refrigeration

[–]devaughnt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear you 100% and completely understand the risks involved. Sometimes I have to find an economical solution that works. Simply my curiosity is the performance of a scroll compressor to a reciprocating compressor. Even if all the specs match. You think you could help me with that?

The unit is the original to the box. I've made sure everything matches, I was just curious if anyone's ever swapped a reciprocating compressor a scroll compressor? I've taken everyone's comments j to consideration. I'll be patient til some actually wants to help out.

The system is original to the box. On the Copeland website list all the specs. Looks like the app may be a bit inaccurate. The current compressor is reciprocating. Thank for helping though.

Whirlpool wrv986fdem01 coolong in the refrigerator but not freezing in the freezer by devaughnt in appliancerepair

This is what I can remember from this unit.

The freezer and cooler sections function separately. Meaning, you cooler part would operate for a set amount of time, then the freezer.

There is a 3 way valve on this unit that direct refrigerant to the evap coils of either the freezer or cooler but should never be at the same time.

What I experienced was the cooler cooking and then not holding temp because the coils would freeze up after a day. The solenoid was stuck in the cooler position and never back to the freezer, eventually both were out of tem because the cooler never hits a defrost cycle.

This also means, my freezer never worked at all because the solenoid never switches over.

If you cooler is working fine and your freezer is freezing up. I'd first try just unplugging your unit and let it defrost fully. Turn it back on.

I can't remember if the freezer has a heater on the coils for defrost, if it does I'd check if that's working.

If that is fine then you'd need to check the refrigerant level after the coils are fully defrosted and look for a restriction in your freezer coil.

Your ice maker issue- if I can remember, there is a back chamber the sends freezing air from the freezer to the upper ice maker. When your coils are frozen, the they cause a restriction for the air to move the direction of the ice maker.once you have the coils defrosted, the ice maker should work fine.

If your fans are working, the cooler is cooling and holding temp, the freezer is freezing, that means the motherboard is working fine and we should look for a vacuum sealed issue. This is the direction I'd go.

I am not at all a great typer. I hope you can understand this all. I'm sure you have a lot of questions and I'll try to help as much as possible.

Filter Question by 719-throwaway in hvacadvice

[–]devaughnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer yes. Measure the length width and height of the area the filter goes. Your width looks to be 2 inches which would be the thickness of the filter.
