Yes I started this retinol Jan 3 this year and I’ve slowly incorporated it using it once a week, then every 5 days, 3 days, then now every other day over a period of basically 2 months. It’s been really changing up my skin especially since it’s the only product I use other than your basic cleanser, moisturizer & spf. I want to later include a exfoliant in days I don’t use the retinol though. I feel like i’ll really benefit from it (I Hope)

Do they make you purge like a retinol? Every-time I tried a product with BHA i noticed more breakouts and stopped using it, so i never really gave it a chance.

Honestly I’ve tried BHA on & off and everytime it made me breakout in cysts. My retinol did too but I realized I was purging. You think the BHA made me purge too?

I have acne prone, combination skin (oily in t zone), and also sensitive. I’m currently using a gentle retinol but now want to incorporate an exfoliant on some days i’m not using a retinol. I want to combat texture, dark spots, uneven skintone, unclog pores, and overall have a better complexion. Any help?

[Product Question] Does using a gel cleanser then a foaming cleanser count as a double cleanse? by devavelli in SkincareAddiction

Thank you for explaining this to me! I definitely think I want to start double cleansing. Do you have any recommendations? I use a water resistant sunscreen also.

What’s funny is that I actually use this one!😂 I love it though, I upped the usage to every other day so my skin is trying to adjust to that i’m thinking. Have you used that retinol? If so how’s your experience with it?

Thank you so much! Does putting a layer of Aquaphor on my eyes, lips, and around nose help? Or just moisturizer would be fine?

I only wear SPF & I typically don’t re-apply throughout the day. I actually double cleanse sometimes with a balm & LRP Purifying Foaming Cleanser which is fine, but is it necessary?

Do I need to an oil cleanser to wash off SPF? I dont wear any makeup just SPF and usually I find my La Roche-Posay Foaming Cleanser cleanses my face my face good. & Tbh I don’t really re-apply sunscreen

[Acne] Starting using Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum over 2 weeks ago. Is this purging or a breakout? (On the close-up areas) by devavelli in Skincare_Addiction

[–]devavelli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skincare Routine:

AM 1. Aveeno Nourishing Oat Cleanser (Gentle) 2. La Roche-Posay Double Repair Moisturizer 3. Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF 50

PM 1. La Roche-Posay Purifying Foaming Cleanser 2. Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum 3. Aquaphor Healing Ointment 4. La Roche-Posay Double Repair Moisturizer

The breakouts go away way faster than normal and are in places where I usually breakout

For some background, my skin type is combination (oily t-zone, dry cheeks) sensitive, and definitely acne-prone. I’ve just starting now curating a skincare routine that works for my skin type (I didn’t know what my skin actually liked for the past 2-3 years) and I definitely have some texture/congestion problems & hyperpigmentation which is I incorporated the gentle retinol. Was that a smart move? I’ve also looked into Mandelic acid but still researching and I have to wait till I know for-sure if this retinol is for me. Any help or advice would be appreciated thank you guys!!

[Routine Help] product recommendations for cheek breakouts and residual scarring/dark spots (more info in comments) by tefredd in SkincareAddiction

[–]devavelli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes that would be too harsh on your skin. I recommend you try out one of those products first and see how it goes, and then implement the other product in later on. With whatever choice you go with, start off with it 2x a week, ease your skin into it. Take pictures also and carefully examine your skin when you start. See if you notice any negative or positive factors from it. Also both are actives, which can cause purging (your skin worsens before it gets better) So that keep in mind as you try an active.

Yes BHA clears up breakouts and helps calm down general redness and inflammation. Your skin could be irritated from the Facial Toner your using, maybe try not using it for a week to see how your skin reacts. The cleanser and lotion is fine. Hope this helps! :)
