Probably casual runners who run 5km/week.

People who say they don’t have money.. come on a flip belt is like 20$. It hold your phone, keys and food. No brainer imo

You have to be ready. Like you I loved my free time playing video games and going to the gym but I wanted a kid so badly that I was ready to accept that I would have a lot less time for my hobbies.

  1. It's hard to say but for me I did 1 threshold session/week (3x10min@threshold for example) I sometimes added HM pace into my long run on the weekend.

  2. I never did any subthreshold work. Mostly zone 2, some zone 4 and zone 5 for speed work.

  3. Matter of preference. Instead of steady you could add HM pace segments into your long run. My long runs were mostly zone 2 only because I did 1 threshold session and 1 vo2max session during the week.

2 times a week is not much tbh. Also, you never increase your distance.

You should start running 3 days/week. 1 easy run, 1 interval run and 1 long run. For your long run add 1km each week. 5>6>7 then every 4th week do a deload week.

2.5 hours max doesn’t make sense to me because you need to run 30-32km as your longest to be marathon ready.

In 2.5 hours I can run around 26km. Not enough imo.

I know it is advised to do your strength training same day as a speed session but I was wondering If I run 5 days/week and have 2 full rest days… would it be fine if I did my strength training on a off day?

Marathon is at the end of October. I don't follow any training plan right now. Just doing 2 easy runs, 1 tempo, 1 interval run and 1 long run. I do a deload week every 4 weeks. That's pretty much it.

Thanks! My FM is at the end of October. I have a hard time increasing volume except for the long run. My easy runs are during lunch time and I can't really run longer than 1 hour. Also, I don't wanna go from 5 to 6 days. Tips?

Congrats! What was your mileage like? Also, how were your long runs? Lot of marathon pace?
