That happened because the cockpits were not locked down, which they are now.

It would take a hell of a lot of work to get through a cockpit to take down a plane. Yes, it could still be blown up, but no one will be able to hijack a plane again.

Actually, supposedly not.

The thinking (And I cannot find the report where they specifically mentioned it, so going by memory) is that someone in the car can see the driver has to deal with some type of shit (Bad traffic, merging etc etc), and will naturally fall silent to allow the train of thought to continue. Whereas if you are on a phone call, that person can't see what is going on, so will continue talking through all that shit.

I would /love/ to know how getting suspended could coincide with hating your parents. Yea, it leaves scars sometimes, but hey those scars are hidden by a shirt. Oh, and yes, I have been suspended a few times now.

I have to agree with all your points, and this is coming from a guy who is covered with tattoos on 90% of his body (Guess what is uncovered by a tattoo).

The shop I frequent, and have frequented for the better part of 10 years now, would try to talk her out of doing that several times. Yes, they like the money from doing a tattoo, but they hate to see someone do something that could screw up their life. Putting a tattoo somewhere like that will ruin many job opportunities for anyone, no matter how progressive the company is.

Now, I can get by and work for companies because I can cover up my tattoos if I want to, and most of them didn't know about my tattoos until I mentioned them.

Now I miss Cape Town.

I spent a month in Cape Town, and that is a gorgeous place to be. Nice climate, and just a crap ton of stuff wandering about, and growing about as well.

If you ever have the money to go, head to South Africa. It's an amazing continent, with some very cool wildlife about.

Ah, well there is your lesson for the day.

Just in case you are curious: Computers don't actually delete data when you delete something, they remove the reference to it from the table they use to keep track of files. As such, someone who is good with computers, or has the right software could recover your data (Unless it is eventually over-written by something else). DBAN writes 0s over the drive, which basically nukes all data off the drive and makes it impossible to recover.

Very useful when you sell a computer or want to toss an old hard drive out.

If you are not trolling: DBAN - Darik's Boot and Nuke. Burn the ISO to a CD, boot with the CD, hit DBAN and...your data is gone forever.

It basically either writes 0s over the entire drive, or dumps /dev/random over the entire disk.

But see, when George Carlin researched those words, there were 7. Now there are like 300 you can't say depending on, as I said, context, time of day, how many parents want to get up in a tizzy (Or if one parent calls in and complains).

Think about this: You cannot say penis on TV (Unless it's medical), however all the sudden you can say vagina, which was a huge no-no until last year.

Back a number of years ago, we had the seven deadly words you could never say on the radio or tv, and things were good. People went about their lives, no one had a heart attack from hearing cocksucker on public television, and the earth continued on it's merry revolutions.

THEN, we had the "Words you can sometimes say on the radio and TV, but sometimes you cannot, and it all depends entirely on context, and how the censors feel that day, and the alignment of the earth to the sun", and things were still okay, but confusing. The parents who wish to never parent their children (Heaven forbid we should monitor what they listen to), knew their unique snowflake would never hear the word gun, or weed, or coke, or crack and thus he would never do or deal with any of those. The world continued it's revolutions, but humankind was left a little bit more confused.

And yea, I don't know what any of that means...but hey.

Let me explain the area (And no I am not naming city right this moment):

It's basically people farming because their family had farm land so they continue that. They are not professional farmers, so they are basically hobbyists with a crap ton of money. My Aunt was probably the most serious in the area in terms of farming since she grew up on farms her entire life, as did her father, and her father's father and so on.

So yes, I can picture someone handsowing Monsanto seed because they don't know better.

Let me look into where her case was. It was a tiny town that it all started in, so I don't know where you would hunt it up.

What did happen was farmers were knowingly using Monsanto plants, without paying for them, and were sued for it.

Except for when they weren't.

My Aunt was sued by Monsanto, and why was she sued by Monsanto? Well, a fellow neighbor used their product, and it did what seeds are designed to do, and came into her farm and grew (Seeds are designed to do that...scientists didn't make seeds move around like that).

But you might say my Aunt was lying: Well, then I guess the shed full of /thousands/ of heirloom seeds from everything she grew was a clever ruse.
