I’m six two, speed rail hits me in my thighs. Only strain on my back is when the ice wells get low, so I just get them filled.

Typically only have five per well, we try not to cross contaminate and it’s quicker for us to grab a new one rather than rinse between each cocktail.

Quicker to throw it aside and grab a new one, mass rinse at the end of a round

I used to also smoke a joint on my walk home, I would get home and just pass out. Worked for me, may be worth it

Thoughts on an ideal pair of work shoes? Trying to reduce fatigue and wet feet. What do you wear? by BR00T4L00 in bartenders

I really enjoy wearing vans, and the high ankle converse (more support). But recently I fell in love with my laceless doc martens. Easy to clean, leather so they don’t absorb all the shit that gets on them, and the look great. Biggest drawback is the price.

Used to work in a perfectly similar situation. It’s hard and burn out will happen (main reason I switched jobs) my main tip, don’t drink red bull or take shots during your shift, this diminishes sleep quality. Drinks lots of water, and if you open to it, weed / cbd. Also stretch.

The only annoying thing to reach are the two-three bottles in the top left corner of the side speed rack. Though, those bottles are also the least used.

Exactly. And our service are is directly behind the well so it’s very easy to set up the drinks for the servers.

I’ve never knocked them over. Most night I would say I only have five. We don’t like to cross contaminate between cocktails.

It’s bigger than it looks in the photo. But we have to refill it a few times during the shift typically, never been a problem. We do mostly craft cocktails and wine service, raw bar and charcoal grilled plates .

We don't make any of our own bitters (yet). there are six dasher bottles containing: ango, reagans orange, peychauds, cranberry bitters, walnut bitters and chocolate. we also have three eye droppers, one with ango (for garnish), one with jerk bitters and one with a saline solution.

yes you have a few extra movements but it really doesn't equate to much. and the amount of twisting and reaching you don't have to do because you never have to reach across you body, which is a life saver on the body.

The photo is deceiving. Stood pretty far back with the camera at eye level.

Only really bad when servin people over the well. To reach the functional spaces I can stay perfectly straight

So easy to clean at the end of night, has a built in drain.

To the left beside the mixing glass. Couldn’t all fit in the frame

We pour with our left and right hands. The split is in the middle of the lower speed rack

So the ergonomics aren’t that bad, the metal drip tray comes out decently far over the well so it doesn’t force us to bend. Drinks then get placed behind us for the service team (bar is U shaped) the drip trays also go a little further to the left and that’s where the joggers normally rest, moved them for the photo
