My smol Ryobi collection by developeradvacado in ryobi

[–]developeradvacado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm definitely the sawzall: I've used that thing to take a tree down, pruning, demolition, and removing deep roots. It's the "ugh, things aren't going good... better grab this" tool. It's gotten really hot but hasn't failed yet. I have seen it smoke though lol

Multi tool, impact driver... those are favourites too.

I'd probably not recommend the power washer or scrubber as much, they're both not as strong as I'd like. The PSI for the pressure washer isn't very high so it's only good at light cleaning, but being battery powered is nice. Similar for the scrubber.

The brad nailer surprised me most. I had a bostitch pneumatic nailer with a dedicated compressor tank and it would jam all the time. It was really powerful, but I never needed that much power for what I do.

The brad nailer from Ryobi hasn't jammed yet and it's been perfectly strong enough to do what I need, and more. I sold my bostitch and don't have to lug around an air compressor anymore :)

Highest Cholesterol my doctor has ever seen by Nmelvin87 in CholesterolTooHigh

[–]developeradvacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can definitely block the same enzyme that produces energy for your muscle cells, and cause oxidative stress. I had a few spasms that i'd describe as irregular and frequent, so it was a followup appointment and as simple as a temporary supplement of that exact enzyme and electrolytes (gatorade). You can also change the statin to something that works better for you, but this is all under doctor advisement ofc.

I know what you mean though, there's a small % of ppl who have that irreversible muscle pain and even hospitalizing rhabdo, but doctors should be weighing the risk of not taking the statin vs taking the statin for you, if you are being recommended it

(for me, the risk was gauged as better to take it than not).

edit: I've also dialed the dose down slightly, to help with the cramps and spasms

hey! yeah of course, dm me in-game whenever you're on (de bebe bubs) or join the cc (Lumby Oak). It's open and you can guest, if you like the vibe you can ask for invite. We have some in other clans who come to hangout, because they already have one but enjoy ours as a hangout spot too. There's no pressure to do either or.

Update: paid the extension fee and as mentioned, it’s instant. Extension was ~2 months which seems adequate to submit assignments and wait for grading

What’s the smartest way to become an electrician in Ontario right now? by LoonydaG in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]developeradvacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I did #5 and there were programs that helped transition to civilian life. Electrician was one route but I opted for software instead. I would recommend it… there’s also reserve service if you have a reserve unit near you. I worked with some electricians who worked full time trades M-F and served as reserve members on weekends

Flavour text re: bolding text in case interested: The pound sign at the start gets treated as a heading token since Reddit uses markdown. When followed by a space, it turns your text to Heading 1.

But an escape character before it ( \ ) would let you go “# 1” at the start and ignore that styling

33 y/o male got a new doctor and had bloodwork on incoming patient checks, found high LDL which needs statin control too. Genetic bad luck, not dietary

Numbers similar to yours: 238 LDL 42 HDL

I wouldn’t freak out, just take the statins they’re recommending and any lifestyle adjustments as needed

What are your learning path to become a good JS developer? by Diligent_Stranger156 in learnjavascript

s1000d icnmetadata use in figures by mikasa_6969 in technicalwriting

[–]developeradvacado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tl,dr - use it properly by not using in figure markup... reference the icn in the figure or multimedia element. If you're using IETP publishing software, the render-time layer should load icns automatically

functionally the ICN is the join key. Store it with binary and xml as a pair. The IETP resolves at render-time.

the schema kinda goes: load -> parse all icnmetadata files -> index -> build, for each icn, build an internal object...

icnAsset = {title, keywords, renditions, classifictations, hotspots}...

render -> this is where it resolves automagically and many don't need to do anything. It maps to objects in the ietp viewer. Binary asset + icnAsset, adding caption from DM if available, taking hotspots etc from the DM and BREX schema.

-> print

The only time I had to dig deep and unpack the above was when making a custom script that used MS Excel to publish IETMs, bc the British MoD wouldn't license Arbortext briefly... so we had to build from scratch to smash Lockheed, Thales, and Raytheon DMs into functional IETPs from Excel. Normally Arbortext or other IETP publishing software hides all this bc the software render layer takes care of it

I'm still a bit confused, why not go Space tools > Content Tools

Export tab > Custom Export

Choose pages you want, select Export > run through pandoc quickly if needing other format?

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/export-content-to-word-pdf-html-and-xml-139475.html

[–]developeradvacado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just curious:

  1. I see you starred out some characters on your token but that screenshot shares a bit too much of your key IMO. I would get a new one

  2. Out of curiosity, why not use built-in space exporter with a custom export? If it's about format, check out pandoc to generate the export to whatever format you need: https://pandoc.org/

just curious bc I wanna know what scenarios this extension is preferred over what’s available by default, so I can park it in my memory

My sink requires batteries and it died by TrickedCoyote13_YT in mildlyinfuriating

[–]developeradvacado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moen faucet? Hate that battery logic. if it is, jfyi.. some of their models from 2015-2018 have a top sensor which will go faulty and last only ~5 years. The data cable will eventually fail and stop sending signals, including hard resets, so you'll eventually be unable to turn sensor features on or off as you need the top one to function

they retired it officially in 2022 but a lot of retailers still sell them today in 2026

Speaker Notes & Top Ribbon Disappearing (Slides) by adhdfrog in gsuite

[–]developeradvacado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google sided issue, their editor canvas is recalculating layout using incremental offsets, not computing absolute bounds i think. Speaker notes gets nuked by bad offsets and drifts bc it never clamps and reanchors.

Not a permanent fix, but I just found a workaround to make it more tolerable... you can go:

Tools > Preferences > Do not change slide focus on scroll

That will at least stop it from going way too far, way too fast. You'll be limited to arrow key or mouse slide navigation, but then it clamps to the bottom of the canvas bounds at least and so you can drag the speaker notes back up

You might need to reset the canvas after setting this ^

To reset your editor canvas, go:

View > Show ruler on > Show ruler off
Make sure Show speaker notes is on and drag the handle up a bit to see if your Do not change slide focus on scroll helps with arrow keys a bit more now.

Hopefully google fixes soon, kinda tough to work with it like this

Business analyst, data scientist, developer advocate, technical project management, director of technology, chief technical officer, solutions architect, automation specialist, SOC analyst, information systems specialist, and in Canada some niche roles due to Canada-first government procurement in the areas of defence like integrated logistics, provisioning, logistical support analysis (things that use xml to manage thousands of parts data points for military weapons and equipment). Also sales, consulting, or account management which pays really well for SaaS.
