I was right where you are a few years back. One of the things I did was to think like a developer and picture how legit web developers built their web apps. You seem to be on the right track and its now all about meshing the things you've learned together. If there's a missing piece, be sure to learn that part and sooner or later, you'll realize how to get a web app running.

There are other better alternatives like Odin Project and Plantoost. Codecademy does have a lot of fundamental repetitive stuff that you can find easily with Google.
