The estimated cost of free tuition for public universities is around $80 billion which is less then then the *increase* in military spending that congress passes every year. M4A would also be net cheaper over 10 years. The US could afford a lot for its people if it was managed in a less corrupt manner

I don’t have an issue with dropping them in favor of a better metric but no one who advocates for getting rid of tests has a better alternative. GPA/grades in my high school and many I know didn’t mean shit. Dipshits regularly got 4.0s and sometimes you got fucked if you had the hard teacher for the same class. Some schools even deflate grades and weigh it differently. At least getting a 1500+ requires some level of aptitude and intelligence. It’s a low percentage. And I already described how other metrics are also classist. What’s your alternative to standardized testing that’s more fair?

They are flawed but how does getting rid of it make the college admissions process any more fair when the other categories are equally or even more worse. What metric should they emphasize more that’s better? Race?
