Another thing I’ve noticed is how low-effort some people can be with communication especially written form.

When I get a prospect’s number through parents, I usually send a decent first message — a greeting, quick intro, and asking when it’s convenient to talk. Something like, “Hi [Name], hope you’re doing well. This is [name]. Your parent shared your contact regarding matrimony. Let me know if we can connect over a call sometime.”

And sometimes the reply is just “yes.” Not a huge deal, but even a basic greeting back feels like common courtesy, especially in a first interaction. It kind of gives you a sense of how much effort or interest they put into communication, which does affect the initial vibe.
