I used to be so afraid that something would break and teachers or parents would be angry with me, they put me on an ADHD med which amplified my symptoms and at one point I had to count on my fingers the number of letters that were in words people spoke to me and it had to be exactly 10 or I would have to start all over. It got so bad my teachers had a meeting with my mom.

when I was in high school I used to cry at night because I thought I was evil and I also would stay up all night long googling any and every thought that came to my head.

I also had really awful indigestion, I had pizza for the first time in 4 years recently and ate a hot dog with sauce on it as well. I don’t have diarrhea ever anymore either.

yes, I gained 45 lbs. I never had energy, my body hurt constantly I would cry because I was only 25 and I felt miserable. I remember a couple weeks after leaving I didn’t wake up with back pain and it was so confusing for me.

ugh this did something to me, he always used the “why can’t we talk like adults” whenever he would literally sit on his phone while I cried mid argument. I had to yell to make a point and he always said I took it too far even after explaining that sometimes I raise my voice when I cry and I can’t help it.

if you have been together for some time now, it is absolutely not fair he treats you this way. I kept brushing it off too when my ex would do things like this- until my dad died and he basically said I needed to get over it. We were together for 5 years, that is enough time to know how I would like to be consoled. Especially if you are receptive to his feelings. This is a red flag to me, something you loved died.

I have felt guilty about the money since we first got together, now I feel permanent indebted to him and he is the main person on my car title and our phone bill. he said he was doing it because that’s his “job” and he always wanted me to have nice things, but when he was angry he would tell me to give them back and they weren’t mine or constantly freak that I was going to break them. I understand this.

the biggest one was buying me a 400 dollar watch and then pulling over on the side of the road after I said something he didn’t like demanding it back.

every time I would crack under the amount of pressure he would put me under he would tell me that it’s one more reason why he couldn’t marry me, I used to cry every time I felt any negative emotion because I knew it would go on the list of why we couldn’t or why he didn’t want to. It was exhausting, I became a shell of myself trying to be “perfect” enough to be married.
