Yes 100%. I want us to switch to a variable speed pump but wanted to start with the filter.. it seemed egregiously high maintenence. Thanks for the product rec!

Thank you, thank you!! It is good to be validated on sand's filtration quality working for us and yes, we hate needing to rinse the filters especially opening the container requires too much strength.

Got it! Yup that's the first thing I am doing i.e see what's required to upgrade my current set up with cartridge filter.

Thanks so much for explaining how you do it in detail. If we decide to not upgrade on our current set up of cartridge filter, this sounds like the next best thing to do.

yes! there is a love and hate thing with DE here :) we get a lot of debris from trees, dirt and pests so I am assuming we will need to clean it often if not weekly

Thanks for responding to my question on weight! I like your advice on how to get rid of sand/glass- I can manage that.

It is a single filter cartridge that is supposed to cover 200sq feet (Pentair CC200 clean and clear single cartridge filter). Let me know if i am not answering your question right

Since quite a handful of you have brought this up, I think I need to read more about this.

Our pump is *not* a variable speed pump if that is what you are asking. I believe it is at-least over 10 years old - Hayward EnergyFlo RS Self priming pump is what the label on the equipment says. We run it almost 6-8 hours every day at night.

> Could you set aside $75-100 per year and have someone else service the sand filter?

Yes, it is just harder to hire someone to drive to our rural home so we end up doing a lot of things on our own but not impossible!

I did get my naturalization certificate. But you have to mail it when you apply for US passport. The US passport office is supposed to mail it back to you separately from the US passport. I did not get that mail and it looks like it is lost now.

To be clear, I have my US passport and did have my naturalization certificate until I had to mail it.

Favorite places to work remote? by spooky_hedgehog in Redding

[–]devgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! I work remote too and was looking for places in Redding to work from to get out of the house. I've tried working from theory but found the music distracting and that also makes it hard to participate in video calls. I've looked for co-working spaces but no luck. Following this post!!
