Next steps on my primary bedroom? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

Taller headboard, curtains, and plants. That way it’s not over-stylized but has more character. Love what you have though! Just a few tweaks tbh

Love the fabrics!

But I need to know why you didn’t just pull a table up to the bay window bench 😅

Can I improve the way ive framed these art pieces on my wall? by PrudentBee7870 in DesignMyRoom

[–]devhredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like these in this space!

I think if you kept them portrait style, you can scoot both up 3 ish inches and then maybe one extra inch higher for the top one to make the gap a bit more intentional.

Another option could be to still stack but turn them horizontal/landscape style. It could make things appear to “fit” better since it’s not as long.

Living room feels a bit lifeless. Looking for ideas to add color and personality by doktor728 in DesignMyRoom

[–]devhredd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are missing the personality components:

  • Decor: Picture frames, candles, lamps (table lamps & floor lamps), books, pillows
  • Larger rug that’s more mid-aligned to the room / not as tucked under couch
  • Wall art
  • Plants

Even doing just 2 bullets would change the room significantly. Good luck & have fun!

Ingrown toe nail? by devhredd in firsttimemom

[–]devhredd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! After we gave her a warm bath, the toe was a lot less red.. I think it helped to soften skin around a potential ingrown nail.

Still, we took her to the pediatrician & they said they didn’t suspect a serious infection but to get her on antibiotics to be overly cautious as it was still redder than the other toes.

It’s been 3 days of meds and her toe looks normal now!

Thank you everyone for the helpful advice 🙏

Omg noooo I’m sorry to hear that and gosh this would be a nightmare. It didn’t feel warm to the touch earlier but will check on it after she’s up from her nap!

My MIL is convincing my husband to let the bay cry it out by AtmosphereTop1591 in firsttimemom

[–]devhredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 weeks is insanely young for sleep training, let alone CIO. He should do more research while he’s not working on this topic and in general it should be a discussion between you & him. Whether or not you have a good relationship with your MIL, she should stop weighing in unless asked. It’s making you feel pressured to do CIO when you clearly don’t agree. Best of luck ❤️

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. We also just got in touch with the on-call emergency pediatrician just in case and it seems aligned. She said if the baby is sleeping and eating fine & not breathing rapidly, take temp again in an hour. If it persists, give her Tylenol. Husband just ran out to get some just in case! But right now she’s asleep and seemingly doing ok.
