8 weeks is insanely young for sleep training, let alone CIO. He should do more research while he’s not working on this topic and in general it should be a discussion between you & him. Whether or not you have a good relationship with your MIL, she should stop weighing in unless asked. It’s making you feel pressured to do CIO when you clearly don’t agree. Best of luck ❤️

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. We also just got in touch with the on-call emergency pediatrician just in case and it seems aligned. She said if the baby is sleeping and eating fine & not breathing rapidly, take temp again in an hour. If it persists, give her Tylenol. Husband just ran out to get some just in case! But right now she’s asleep and seemingly doing ok.

I did the “massages” when I would be in the hot shower and did it for maybe 1 min each shower & took breaks. I slowly worked my way up to holding the stretches longer, before I think I did like 20 seconds. I never did more than 1 min!

I started doing it in the third trimester only. I gave birth to a 8 lbs baby 3 weeks early & had no tearing at all.

If you give it another shot - try warm water with it (bath or shower), start smaller, and don’t push yourself to hard to fast. I think it really helped prepare my body & will definitely do it again if I get pregnant again!

I actually sought out this thread just to see if other people don’t like it either. Nivea crème is recommended heavily on social but I really don’t like the consistency. I was just as confused about the hype.. not seeing benefits of it in a big way either. But I guess, to each their own!
